Why is it our role to protect South Korea and Japan from China?

Why is it our role to protect Germany from Russia?

We have a vested interest in having other free democracies on Earth. And as the leader of the free world ask yourself what is in our best interests and what should we be obliged to do?

To help others gain and maintain their freedom?

To help them stand up to Communism?

To help protect the supplies of oil to our trading partners?

That national interest is to maintain the status quo, and keep millions of refugees spilling over Chinese border in the event of war. The national interest in Taiwan is by treaty and helps prevent communist scum from furthering their filthy commie interests in the dirty East Chink Sea via successful negotiations with maritime fisherman from Japan. Taiwan has been a helpful 3rd party attempting to play mediator in the sabre rattling going on in that area. Whatever checks filthy Chinese Commie expansionism is in our national interest. Ultimately however, it will be the 20 million or more citizens of that nation that will ultimately decide if they'd rather be dead or red.
