A good example of why DEI hiring in critical jobs is the not too long-ago failure of the Secret Service in protecting Trump. It was poor performance on the agent's part. In a hearing, former Secret Service trainer, Dan Bongino, told the committee that because of the DEI policy, he was ordered to "pass" those who were failing their training.
It was all about diversity, equity and inclusion. That they couldn't qualify didn't matter.
That's what you will have with the firefighters. A firefighter has to be able to lift 200 pounds in various ways to qualify. You can bet that in the interest of DEI, they will "qualify" individuals who can't lift even a hundred pounds and put individuals in leadership positions that have no clue as how to run fire stations, or even necessarily be any good at leadership.
