Agree. Though I'm not sure if it's what you meant. You can not keep people in a permanent state of occupation under military rule. It's costly to Israel financially, politically and in terms of security. Netanyahu would rather deflect from all that by bringing everyone's attention to Iran. It is written into their charters, constitutions and rules that they will fight until Israel is destroyed and the Jews are all killed. You forget that Israel showed a willingness to talk peace by accepting the Palestinians demands to leave gaza before peace talks could take place. This they did in August 2005 and the Palestinians immediately responded with increased terrorist attacks and bombardments of Israel.
