Zone1 Did Jesus come to save the Jews?

By the fourth century Jewish converts were gone. The true church, made up of Gentiles, went into hiding.
I imagine they were gone. You can only live so long.

And when you have everyone on the planet trying to murder you, I guess hiding is the safest thing.

Like Anne Frank, Jesus Pushed Cowardly Escapism

The Romans didn't allow failure. Jesus was their agent, sent to convert the Jews to pacifism and to care only about the afterlife, not their oppression under Roman rule in this life. What part of "Render Unto Caesar" don't you understand?
It's easy for you to criticize Jews, because you're not the one who's being hunted.

When the Church Became Its Own Hierarchy, They Had to Blame the Jews for the Crucifixion

Jesus went off-message to become a revolutionary. Like most of that ilk, he wanted to overthrow the High Priests to become some infallible and omnipotent Jewish pope. Same with St. Paul, except over an entirely new religion.

The High Priests collaborated with the Romans. When Jesus attacked the Hebrew Hierarchy, they appealed to their Roman friends to get rid of him.
Jesus wasn't trying to "overthrow" anyone.

He may come back and do some overthrowing during the second coming.....but his initial purpose was to provide an example to us, and to grant salvation. Not to cause an uprising.

Jesus came to fulfill the Law for the Jews, and did so, even though the Jews missed the hour of His visitation.

Luke 19:44 "They will level you to the ground, you and your children within you. They will not leave in you one stone on another, all because you did not recognize the time of your visitation".

The church that Jesus referred to when He called Peter the rock that He would build His church on, was the church that Peter started. It was in Jerusalem, and converted Jews to Jesus. He converted 3,000 on the day of Pentecost.

The Jews missed the boat as you pointed out, therefore the Pentecost converts were likely those from who came from other regions, who heard Peter in their own languages, most likely scattered Israelites from the other tribes. See James 1:1.

At that time perhaps Jews became stagnant with a percentage full of themselves. The Jesus tried to jump start them then Christianity started, and they got killed the first few centuries, then became powerful in the Middle Ages and they became stagnant with a percentage of them full of themselves.

It will be interesting to learn just how this curse against the Jews was to be carried out.

Ezekiel 5

13 Thus shall mine anger be accomplished, and I will cause my fury to rest upon them, and I will be comforted: and they shall know that I the LORD have spoken it in my zeal, when I have accomplished my fury in them.
14 Moreover I will make thee waste, and a reproach among the nations that are round about thee, in the sight of all that pass by.
15 So it shall be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction and an astonishment unto the nations that are round about thee, when I shall execute judgments in thee in anger and in fury and in furious rebukes. I the LORD have spoken it.

Was the Holocaust God's fury against the Jews.

Outline of Biblical Usage: fury
  1. heat, rage, hot displeasure, indignation, anger, wrath, poison, bottles
    1. heat
      1. fever
      2. venom, poison (fig.)
    2. burning anger, rage
High and Mighty Spoiled Brat

What kind of God treats his Chosen People like that? It's pretty obvious here that Ezekiel was a megalomaniac who wanted to play God and to be begged for mercy by his knee-huggers.

The Gentiles, whom Jesus referred to as dogs, were grafted into the Jewish line because of the faith a Gentile woman showed:

Mark 7:26-27 “He replied, 'It is not right to take the children's bread [the favor being applied to the house of Israel] and toss it to their dogs. < Gentiles. But she replied:

Matthew 15:26-28 But she said, Yea, Lord: for even the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it done unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was healed from that hour.
This required careful study. Jesus made plain to the complaining disciples that this woman was an Israelite (as was the 'woman at the well'). He toyed with her a little regarding 'dogs', she responded using the term 'puppies', suggesting innocence.

Regarding grafting, the Jews were broken off from the root, which as Jesus himself, and the other Israelites, who had been wasting away spiritually, grafted in. No one was grafted into the Jews, Judaism.

He said he was sent only to the other tribal descendants, not the Jews. He attracted a few Jews, but most wanted him dead.
He attracted thousands and thousands of Jews. In one case alone, he fed 5,000 men with a few fish and loaves of bread. They didn't count women or children back then. That # could easily have been doubled. The crowds that followed Him at one point tried to get so close to Him that they were pushing Him into the sea. He got in a boat to minister to them.

The Jews and the church were both persecuted, but the Jews had returned to Judaism and away from Christianity.

Arrested development? The Jewish people constitute .4% of the world population but have made tremendous contributions to civilization in research, science, inventions, and other accomplishments. They hold a hugely disproportionate number of Nobel prizes. No other people with their very impressive track record would be considered to be in 'arrested development.'
I was talking about the religion of Judaism, not the accomplishments of its people. Do you think all 613 Commandments are still relevant today?

Those weren't Jews. They were Gentiles (Israelites) from the region of Galilee and Samaria.

Trying to put a number on points of the Law is an exercise in futility and I do not judge people by what they believe but by what they do, what their create, what they contribute to the good of all.

The Jewish people, while not perfect as no humans are, are among the most moral and peaceful of the world though. So they must be doing something right.

Not so. Jesus didn't say other.

Jesus came to save his people (Mt 1:21). He was of Judah.
His people, the Jews, rejected him and many wanted him dead. He left "Jewry" and retreated to Galilee where he began to preach the gospel of the Kingdom to the people of that region; Gentiles (Israelite remnants of the northern kingdom).

However you embellish or alter the story doesn't change the text. Jesus came for his people, Jews, and recruited Jews to join his company.

Death Before Dishonor

The Israelis proved that the Jews had it in them to prevent 2,000 years of persecution in Europe.

Charlton Heston portrayed what a real Messiah was like. He also said, "I'll give you my gun when you pry it from my cold dead hands." The Hamassacre wouldn't have taken place if the victims hadn't been decadent hoplophobic European Jews.

Ewe Essay. I'm really criticizing Americans for thinking they have to be helpless victims themselves, which is why the RichKid Reich wants us to look up to Anne Frank.

So why so few Jews in his church and so many other Israelites?
