Ukraine is currently cracking down on opposition and critical media at an unprecedented pace. Western media keep quiet about it, Western politicians and presstitutes applaud.
Since the Maidan, Ukraine has become a dangerous place for government critics. Since two years were happened 13 examples of murders or mysterious deaths of government critics. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian government has been completely shameless in its crackdown on its critics. In November, Selensky attempted to impeach the Constitutional Court because he did not like one of the sentences that had been handed down. In early February, the last critical television channels were banned. And less than a week ago, Selensky imposed sanctions on the head of the largest opposition party in parliament, completely without a court ruling or any other legal basis. The government simply blocked his assets by presidential decree.
The West did not find fault with this, the U.S. expressed its support for these measures, the EU spoke of the country's internal affairs, and the Western press did not even consider all this newsworthy.
But that's not all, the Ukrainian government continues to turn up the heat and further intensify the fight against opposition figures and independent media.
Currently 426 websites were banned in Ukraine, not even all of which can necessarily be classified as critical of the government. It is now enough to report neutrally and critically. One example is due to today also banned Russian business site RBC. Although RBC is a Russian site and newspaper, it is not a political site, but the Russian equivalent of the Handelsblatt or the Wallstreet Journal, i.e. a good business newspaper.
