Dick’s and Walmart restricted gun sales to adults 21 and older in the wake of the Florida high school massacre. The 19-year-old accused in the school slaying bought the AR-15 used in the attack legally.

Oregon law allows residents to buy shotguns or rifles starting at age 18.

I thought it was odd they have something but refuse to legally sell it to him, but I didn't weight in on it as I assumed it might be allowed as they are a private business. However, when the law says he can purchase it, it would be like a bar refusing to serve someone until they were 24.

He probably has a case. He is going to basically force them to get rid of all ar-15's which would mean they would lose profits from that, AND many avid gun and sports people.
