I was comfortable with the fort names back when I didn't know that Hood and Bragg were confederate generals. Now, not so much.
Hood was ok as a Corps commander. Bragg was so bad he could have been a plant by the Union.I knew that Bragg and Hood were not very good commanders.
Better they fought for the CSA than the Union.

I've been to Shiloh more than eight times. I have a relative buried there. Pro-tip: Don't charge concentrated rifled infantry on horseback!Hood thought he throw his troops at entrenchments. Fool.
Yeah, Bragg was terrible. The former VP, Crittenden, at Shiloh was telling Bragg to keep attacking at the end of the first day.
Bragg said, "No." Grant said, "We will get them tomorrow."
Yeah but biden allowed millions to flood the border too. Thats kind of like a store putting an item on sale but marking the price up first so at the end, you're paying the same price.Trump is still behind Biden in deportations. Trump just does it with more flare and cruelty. Biden deported 257,000 Feb to June. Trump about 200,000. LOL.
There was nothing "strange" about it.~~~~~~
Strangely, it was during the first World War and the Wilson era that Democrat majorities in Congress named these military bases...
Camp Bragg was established in 1918 as an artillery training ground.
Fort Hood was created in 1942.
Both military facilities originally named by Democrat majorities presided over Democrat presidents Woodrow Wilson and Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
Why is the right so in love with traitorous enemies? Curious. What’s next Fort Hitler?
"gulf of America", yea the dems.Nope. It’s the dems that like to change the names of things to fool the useful idiots for their votes.
That’s one. What else you got?"gulf of America", yea the dems.
That’s one. What else you got?
Airport Renaming Proposals
1. Washington Dulles International Airport → Donald J. Trump International Airport
- Introduced by House Republicans including Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) and Rep. Addison McDowell (R-NC) in 2024 and again in 2025
- Intended to honor Trump’s presidency and legacy
- The bill has not passed and faces strong opposition from Democrats
2. Nashville International Airport → Trump International Airport
3. Oakland International Airport → Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport
- Proposed by Tennessee state Rep. Todd Warner in January 2025
- Part of a broader effort to honor Trump in Republican-led states
- Finalized by the Port of Oakland in July 2025
- Though not directly a GOP initiative, the renaming sparked legal disputes with San Francisco over branding and regional identity
- Municipal Ownership & Naming Efforts
1. Township Name Changes in Michigan
- In 2021, Rep. David Martin (R-MI) sponsored legislation allowing Michigan townships to change their names via public vote
- Aimed at resolving duplicate names and improving local identity
2. Gulf of Mexico → Gulf of America
- In 2025, President Trump issued an executive order to rename the Gulf of Mexico
- Some businesses, like Chevron, have adopted the term “Gulf of America” in official communications
3. Washington Commanders → Washington Redskins (Proposed Reversal)
- Trump has publicly called for the NFL team to revert to its former name, claiming it honors Native American heritage
- He also pushed for the Cleveland Guardians to return to “Indians”
These efforts reflect a mix of symbolic rebranding, political messaging, and cultural positioning. If you’d like, I can dig into how these naming battles have played out legally or culturally

So what you are saying is that you didn't worry about them until you where told to worry about them, how very sheeple of you.I never worried about the names of Confederate heroes for our bases. Served at Fort Hood and Fort Bragg.
But times change, don't they? The CSA was a traitor nation, yes. There you go.
The Tennessean Nashville![]()
A House committee attempted to ban Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth from using official funds to change military base names to evoke their original, Confederate-inspired titles in a rebuke of his war on diversity and inclusion policies in the military.
The House Armed Services Committee passed an amendment to its annual defense policy bill barring the Pentagon from using any of the funds from next year's defense budget to rename Defense Department installations in honor of Confederate figures.
