Well the way I always understood School Choice is that it allows rich people to get tax breaks to send their kids to private schools and it takes money away from public schools.

It hurts more poor people than it helps.

But hey, Republicans won. I hope to god you guys pass School Choice. If you don't, why didn't you? What are you waiting for?

I'm serious. Since so many poor and middle class people like Trump so much, I want all Republican policies to pass. See how much they like them then.

P.S. I went to Detroit Public Schools. The year we moved, my brother and I were the only whites in the entire middle school. And zero hispanics. It was 100% BLACK. Boy did we get our asses kicked. Anyways, I can't argue with you that people who want a better education for their kids can't send them to Detroit Public Schools. That is no education.

So we moved to the suburbs when I was in 4th grade. The counselor told my mom, aside from what she taught me, I learned nothing in those 4 years. Maybe I learned in Kindergarten but that's when the school was mostly white. By 4th grade it was a total shit hole with nothing but poor people's kids. And the teachers SUCKED! Not only did they suck they were very racist towards me.

I used to argue that they need to better fund those Detroit Public schools but that's a waste of money. Teachers who can't teach, students who can't learn and parents who don't care. And who pay no fucking property taxes. Or very low property taxes.

I used to argue take all the money in the state collected for schools and evenly distribute it to all kids evenly but like the Glengary Glen Ross leads. Giving them the money is like throwing it away.

I don't see any reason why Trump won't. But he didn't the last time. Instead he put Betsy Devos in charge of it. She hates public schools too and loves charter schools. Just like Linda McMahon. I'm surprised Betsy didn't do more in Trump's first term.

Why wouldn't Trump disolve the Department of Education? He's done crazier things. And I'm sure the Senate and House will go along.

No one gets free schooling of choice.

You can xfr only your federal dollars per student to the school of choice and get to pick up the rest.

And once the law passes, the schools will raise their costs exactly by that subsidized cost.

Many of the things I argue for, I argue in defense of poor and middle class people. But those people have proven themselves to be unworthy of my concern. They voted for personal responsibility. THEY voted for less government in their lives. Little do they realize how much government has improved their lives.

So now I'm all in on Republican policies. We should absolutely give people who send their kids to private schools a tax break. Who cares if it might hurt public schools? Why should parents who send their kids to private school care about that? In fact, by sending their kids to private school, they are basically saying even if it's free, they don't want it. So why should they have to pay for that?

Before the election I was arguing in defense of public schools then I realized what a crappy product they provide. I remembered going to public schools. Why would I defend that?

Then I think of my sister in law a teacher who was convinced not to vote for Kamala. She was convinced both sides are corrupt. That's how good of a job Republicans did on America the last 4 years. They convinced Democratic voters that it's the Democrats who are the party for the rich.

Well now Republicans get to either prove me right or wrong.

But while they are in charge, I may as well celebrate the things they do that I like, like

a. Sending illegals packing
b. Getting tough on crime
c. Eliminate the Department of Education

School choice is anyone can take the tax dollars assigned to their child and use it in any private OR public school they care to. That way bad schools will die on the vine without students, or with studentship whose parents don't care about the quality of the education their kids get.
