The result could somewhat resemble a New England L, the rambling asymmetrical style established by connecting houses to barns and later upgrading the barns.

This is probably the last phase of White House expansion. As the federal government loses power and money, it will be forced to downsize more everywhere. If Trump keeps a close eye on construction quality, then the addition could be more durable than many office buildings, so it may become more office space later as cheaper structures become maintenance money pits.
