Democrats Pass Sweeping Gun Control

much more lax...

No, it isn't .....it simply has actual due process involved before they can confiscate guns from someone...

And, the guy was in a psychiatric facility for 2 weeks where he told the Drs. he was hearing voices and wanted to commit a mass shooting......

The protocol for the Maine Yellow Flag law is the individual has to be evaluated by a mental health professional who then informs the police...who then go and petition a judge to get a court order to pull the individuals guns...

He was evaluated.......they informed the police......so the protocols of the Yellow Flag law had been met....except for the part of the police doing their job and pulling his guns...

He shouldn't have been let out of the facility until the doctors were ABSOLUTELY SURE he wasn't a danger. They should be sued by his victims and have their licenses to practice medicine revoked permanently.

Yep.......the Yellow Flag protocols the gun grabbers wanted are supposed to have stopped him and they didn't........

I don't believe we can be absolutely sure of anything these days. But IMHO, I do think if there's any question in the doctor's mind about the patient's danger to himself or others then he/she should be able to enter a code into the background check system to deny the individual in question the ability to buy a gun. At least temporarily.

I don't think we have enough space in our facilities to keep people indefinitely. I suspect at least some of them are smart enough to say and do the right things to get themselves released. It ain't like a doctor can tell every time whether somebody is being deceptive.

In this particular case that wouldn’t have worked because he purchased the weapons before his mental issues.

The Yellow Flag law allowed the police to get a court order to take his gun.....and they didn't need the family to ask them, since he was already in a psychiatric hospital, and had been evaluated by Drs. which is what the protocol needs to get the police involved...

The people saying the Yellow Flag law wasn't enough are lying.......

I agree

Another raging success for Dem / Socialist gun free zones and layers upon layers of gun control laws that aren’t enforced.

Yep....you have a nut who just murdered 18 people roaming around the area, and people who don't have their own guns are helpless.....

Much like on Oct. 7th after the Israeli government collected the rifles of those very Israelis raped, tortured, murdered and mutilated by the hamas monsters...

The Dem / Socialst game plan is obvious. More gun control laws on top of gun control laws they don’t enforce. Their end game is that because criminals and the mentally ill don’t obey laws, the only thing left to do is ban the sale of all guns and confiscate those already owned by law abiding citizens.

They don't work in Australia either.....gun crime is up in Australia, and they have had the same number of mass public shooting incidents as they did before they banned guns....their killers simply didn't reach 3 killed in each event, which is how they lie about their record...

A list of major shootings in Australia since the gun ban and confiscation...

Australia....

Sydney detectives are struggling to contain the city’s escalating gang war and are facing a “wall of silence” despite two people dying in separate shootings over the past five days.

The recent spate of shootings started a month ago when the prominent underworld figure Alen Moradian was shot dead in broad daylight at Bondi Junction.

Taskforce Magnus has been established to investigate the crimes, with five people being shot as part of targeted and possibly linked hits across the city since Sunday.

The taskforce of 70 detectives and 30 plain-clothed officers will investigate links between the shootings and a string of other serious crimes including kidnappings believed to relate to drug supply.

NRA-ILA | Massachusetts: Anti-Gun Bill Passes House

H.4135 re-writes gun laws in the Commonwealth and imposes unprecedented gun-control. This is an ominous bill that includes the worst anti-gun legislation in the country, including:

  • Widespread bans on commonly owned firearms,
  • Eliminating due process through expanded “Red Flag” laws,
  • Implementing new “safe storage” mandates in and out of your home,
  • Instituting expanded gun registry
  • Placing an extreme financial burden on gun-owners to price them out of being able to exercise their Second Amendment rights,
  • And much more.

And here again the lefts push to ban law abiding citizens 2 nd Amendment rights at every turn
