Democrats and their supporters pursuing using the twenty-fifth amendment and the impeachment process to remove President Donald Trump from Office are being extremely irresponsible and unwise, history will be outstanding critical of them in their pursuit of impeaching the President. First off President Trump is not criminally culpable for the mob’s intrusion of the nation’s Capitol this past Wednesday; sure we all know he wanted the protesters to do it but the question is whether or not we can be prove that he incited or in some way directed the crowd to do it and we cannot prove it. We know in the earlier rally he told the crowd to go down to the Capitol and protest to move Republican members of Congress to support his effort to stop the certification of ballots but telling a crowd to go to a certain location and protest is not a crime.
The Democrats just don't have a case for impeachment here. Number one the intrusion of the Capitol does not meet the "high crime and misdemeanor" element of impeachment. Sure it offends everyone's sensibilities like crazy see things like rioters walking around the almost sacred place of the Senate Chamber but at the end of the day what you have here to a large degree is trespass, petty theft and vandalism -minor crimes. In regards to all this inflammatory language flying around claiming that what you have here is acts of insurrection and/or sedition it does not comport with the facts these protestors were not trying to overthrow the government. The protesters goal was to disrupt and stop the unfolding delegate count of the electoral college so as to open the door for state legislatures favorable to President Trump to appoint their own delegate slate supporting Trump causing a showdown on which slate should be recognized by Congress with the issue ultimately going to the Supreme Court where since President Trump having appointed three of the nine Justices would find a friendly Court and come out victorious; or one could say the protesters wanted to somehow subvert the current delegate count process they see as fraudulent and somehow bring what they see as the fair result of Trump having won the November vote being recognized ! The other thing the Democrats will do here with their rushed impeachment process is they will mar and weaken this impeachment mechanism in our Democratic form of government - do we really want Presidents when they are of a different Party from the majority of the Senat and House have to continually do a calculus are they taking an action which could cause them to be impeached for basically political reasons? If this impeachment process would be respected there would be numerous people that would have to be questioned publicly under oath like the head of the Capitol Hill police and Pentagon and Washington DC police officials and ask how can only five to ten thousand protesters (with no firearms to speak of) breach America's Center of Government Capital building - the capitol police alone numbers two thousand strong; who is really responsible for this shocking collapse of security?
History will not be kind to the Democrats if they pursue an impeachment process here, many many Americans will believe the Democrats joined in and lead a big corruption effort to use the impeachment process to permanently block a political champion for conservatives and people form the heartland of America, Donald Trump, from being able to run for Presidency of the United States again. These Americans will believe this whole incident was a set-up to impeach President Trump because once he is impeached he is banned from holding federal public office ever again and the Senate impeachment trial can be held after President Trump has left office and by Tuesday evening the Democrats new the results of the Georgia run-off election where they would hold power in both the House and Senate so it would be easy to orchestrate the impeachment! Why was it a set-up you say! Social media held an ocean of red flags that protesters were planning to disrupt the Electoral College count certification process including entering the Capitol building. Capitol Hill Police authorities mysteriously acted like this danger was nonexistent; they rejected an offer by the Pentagon to have National Guard forces available for security and they rejected an offer from the Department of Justice to provide FBI agents to help with security when the protest was beginning to spiral out of control. When one sees video of this Wednesday incident the barrier the Capitol Hill police used to keep the protesters at bay were portable metal fences these types of barriers are for things like directing pedestrian movement they aren't going to restrain protesters looking to riot. Competent security preparation would have called for the utilization of concrete blocks installed by cranes and the block walls located at least fifty to one hundred yards away from the Capitol building; allowing protesters contact with the Capitol building is mind boggling the building has a lot of glass windows and doors which could be broken through with a variety of readily available objects.
At the Trump-promoted "Save America March" aimed at preventing President-elect Joe Biden from taking office. Trump began his rant an hour before a joint session of Congress convened to ratify Biden's victory. Railing against "this egregious assault on our democracy," he urged his followers to "show strength" and "take back our country" by "marching over to the Capitol building" and "demanding that Congress do the right thing." The "right thing," according to Trump, was overturning the election results by rejecting electoral votes for Biden.
It was clear that Congress was not about to do that, especially after Vice President Mike Pence, who was charged with presiding over the joint session, forcefully rejected the president's specious argument that he had the unilateral power to deliver the outcome Trump wanted. The result was easy to predict as thousands of aggrieved and frustrated Trump fans, riled up by the president, streamed toward the Capitol as he demanded on a mission "take back our country".
