Should Michelangelo's famous classical sculpture David be viewed in sixth grade class? I say no. There is no need for this. There are many other famous artworks other than this that can be presented to children that young. It should be a parent's decision and it should not happen in school at this age. This is just another form of subtle indoctrination by the left, who will stop at nothing to sexualize children.

This has been moved to Education.

Kids have been exposed to art for hundreds and hundreds of years. If they see the David with his penis exposed, I don’t think they will become prematurely specialized anymore than if they see a Botticelli painting of a woman with naked breasts.

This doesn’t mean that they need to have their fairly innocent eyes exposed to intercourse or a cum shot. They don’t need to be sitting in front of a drag queen with his dick exposed under his skirt. And it doesn’t mean they need to be taught at an early age how to put a condom on a dick or a cucumber.

My first comparative anatomy class was in our back yard with some of the neighbor kids. By the time we got to sixth grade, we all knew what we had. We were just learning about art was all.

We are talking about sixth graders, not reasonably educated people. That's the point.

We went a couple times to the Cleveland Museum of Art in elementary school. No one freaked.

Still one of my favorite places to go. Even though I no longer live in Cleveland I made sure to take my kids.

I wouldn't consider it to be a bad thing back in my day....but with the current track record of the education system being so overrun with leftist weirdos maybe it IS time to deny them ammunition such as this to use on children.

For crying out loud, when it was originally commissioned, it was displayed in a CHURCH! It's also considered on of the great works of art of the world.

What next? Put an NC-17 rating on tours through the Sistine Chapel because there are naked people in the ceiling?

No wonder the rest of the world thinks that Americans are a bunch of puritanical prudes with a stick up their ass.

Gov DeSantis educational rules are paying off. Thank goodness children are being protected from such filth.

Your dumb partisan attack helped you miss this in the article YOU posted:

"Tallahassee Classic Principal Hope Carrasquilla explained to HuffPost that “once in a while you get a parent who gets upset about Renaissance art,” so the school typically sends out a preemptive letter before teaching such lessons.

However, in this case, “a series of miscommunications” led to the letter not making it out, she said, and some parents turned their venom toward her."

De Santis has nothing to with this failure.

Typical response for a partisan hack who got schooled by failing to read the article YOU posted showing that normally Parents would be warned about this before the trip started but this time the letter never went out thus this happened.

De Santis has NOTHING to do with this mistake made by the school.

I am a free-thinking INDEPENDENT, not a party supporter at all.

"A Tallahassee charter school principal has been forced to resign after parents complained about a sixth grade art history lesson, claiming Michelangelo's statue of David, arguably the most famous sculpture in the world, was 'pornographic'. Hope Carrasquilla was pushed out of Tallahassee Classical School this week after three parents complained about the curriculum. Two said they wished they'd been made aware that kids were being shown images of the sculpture first, and one claimed it was 'pornographic'. They claimed the images 'upset' their children.

The sculpture was among artworks being studied in a Renaissance art class for students aged 11 and 12. Created between 1501 and 1504, it is widely considered to be the world's greatest sculpture. But the Tallahassee parents considered it inappropriate because of David's nudity. They are now demanding to be given an advanced-vote on any topic or lesson that could be considered 'controversial'.

This is the problem with the public school system -- they continue to force their woke-tranny-pedo agenda on children -- even tho this was a private charter school -- it still feels good to blame this on public schools regardless -- because let's be honest, public school teachers are doing more than just showing pictures of nude statues, they are actually raping children in their classrooms everyday, and we do nothing about it.

Any person knows that the majority of Greek religious art is nude, because the Greeks were infamous pedophiles....so why would they allow children to see something like this? At least this principal will be fired and I believe she should be charged with sexual abuse of a minor or something nefarious sounding like that....
