Both bills would provide $15 billion to the Emergency Injury Disaster Loan program, which provides long-term, low-interest loans from the Small Business Administration. Severely impacted small businesses with fewer than 10 workers will be given priority for some of the money.
They also provide $25 billion for a new grant program specifically for bars and restaurants. Eligible businesses may receive up to $10 million and can use the money for a variety of expenses, including payroll, mortgage and rent, utilities and food and beverages.

The consequences are so far removed from anything that affects these legislators that they have no reason to be frugal at all. The line that we are creating debt that our grandchildren will have to pay back doesn't even ring true. When did we ever have to pay anything back? Massive debt is nothing new. The only time the government seems to have consequences is when it's arbitrarily shut down during a budget fight. Then they just raise the debt ceiling and turn everything back on again. People know instinctively that living above your means will catch up to you, but most people, including most legislators, don't seem to believe it's a real thing when it comes to this government. We don't ever seem to have to pay anything back - whatever that means, and we seem to be able to print money when we need it, so...
