America is at the crossroads and thus it requires a drastic turn back to what made it successful. This is precisely what so many socialists and alt-left progressives do NOT want. Trump and the GOP either do it now, or they kiss American ideals and values goodbye in four years.

Probably because the article is bullshit. The article claimed they were using Ann's own words but failed to use quotation marks. This is an attempt to pass off their own opinions as a direct quote. The reader thinks it's Ann, but it isn't.

Why do this?

To prevent a lawsuit.

I don't buy into anything blindly. I question everything. You're the one buying into false stories because of your misguided prejudices. I however retain an open mind. I never assume any story from any source coming from a unquestionably biased media is genuine. This is something I learned long ago while studying journalism, that you must maintain a code of ethics.
