Only the most dangerous are subject to civil commitment after serving their prison term. So what is different about this case? Oh let me guess. The transgender part?

Life time supervision, that is a start however, keeping him in jail to finish out his sentence would be better. Sex offenders are more likely to repeat than any other group. Why put the public at risk, when we don't need to? I believe they got this one wrong.

Then address the issue of state sentencing guidelines and policy and criteria regarding civil commitment. There is no information available as to whether or nor she served her full criminal sentence. The issue is civil commitment following the completion of the criminal sentence.

There should be NO paroling of people convicted of rapes, child molestation, or murder. It should be mandatory that they have to go to a mental institution after release from prison. When a person is a danger to society and has proven it, he should be locked up in a psychiatric facility after he completes his entire prison terms. These types need to be separated from the rest of society and made an example of.

Well, if there was a transgender person who was respectful and kind, I might consider calling that person by his/her "preferred pronoun" only because I really wouldn't want to hurt that individual's feelings. Would I actually believe that the person was their "preferred opposite gender?" Absolutely not. How can a person who was born a male even think they know what it is to be a female? They don't know. They might think they do, but they don't. I live in Massachusetts, so I've seen some and talked to a few in my job at the hospital. Of course, I am courteous and polite, and even friendly and try to be funny, but I do not believe they are the opposite sex. Some people keep bringing up "gender", but female and male are actually sexes, so I don't know what they mean by "gender." They don't want to conform to their gender standards and so they dress like the opposite sex, but that doesn't make them the opposite sex. I believe it is a mental disorder, so maybe they should be pitied, but I'm not going to be dishonest with myself for anyone, crazy or not. I believe it is a disorder very similar to body dysmorphic disorder, and these people need therapy, not cosmetic surgery.
