"Utah Gov. Spencer Cox (R) signed a bill on Tuesday requiring porn filters on cellphones and tablets, The Associated Press reports. The bill, H.B. 72, is aimed at establishing filter requirements and enforcement for tablets and smartphones activated in the state on or after Jan. 1 of the year the measure takes effect, according to its text. Manufacturers that don’t abide by the law could face fines of $10 for each violation with a cap of $500. Utah has been trying to curb pornography in the state for years."

This is a bold and brave move by the governor and a bold and brave stand for individual freedom and American values. For far too long these cancel culture Dems and their big tech overlords have been trying to force our children to watch porn on their smart-phones and tablets -- parents were obviously powerless to protect their children from porn.....Now thanks to this bill; state government will force these Satanic big tech companies to modify their product line in order to protect our children.

Finally, a strike back against cancel culture and big government for the good guys.

Was the word "blow" in the title intentional or just the way it went? Because it took me a few minutes to stop laughing.
What is it with these ultra religious right wingers? They rail against sexuality....and then get caught with their pants down.
Just shows you that it's never good to repress feelings.

Honestly, if you've ever seen the chatter between a clutch of middle schoolers and high schoolers texting, tweeting, or chatting,
you would know that porn is one of the LEAST concerns. :)

You seem to have an odd conception of "freedom".

Porn Filters?

The Bastard!

WIth precious few exceptions, Utah "conservatives" (whatever the hell that's supposed to mean anymore) are some of the most statist turd republicans infesting the GOP.

Even Mike Lee has been giving hand jobs to BigTech.

No group of people is more addicted to porn than Mormons. Believe me. I have seen enough of them in my line of work. So, this signing this bill is likely a move supported my most Utards.

But, it's not a problem the legislative and executive branches of government can fix. Only heavy litigation brought by lawyers with a financial incentive to prevail, will stop the unwanted porn infiltration. Class-action lawsuits by porn addicts who were sent unsolicited porn advertisement/links would be compensated for the resulting addiction, any job loss, marital counseling/divorce, any resulting loss of consortium, etc.

One or two of those class-action lawsuits and the problem goes RIGHT AWAY!!!

It is a state issue on how they want to deal with perceived problems. The state of Washington has banned internet gambling and those sites do not allow for gambling or attempting internet gambling, so technology is there.

I can think of bigger issues in these state than gambling or porn.
