Congress grills Pete Hegseth

He was a Major. He commanded a company, nor have I found him in command positions at Brigade or Division.

We truly relied on our company clerks. Thanks for that service.
I am not like the typical Democrat. When a person tells me the truth, as you did, I thank you and also thank you for your service. Yes he was a Major at his peak rank. Majors when I was in the Army are not company commanders. They were in higher positions such as S1 through S4. Company clerks should be picked primarily from the clerk school. I was not though I had steller service in basic as the chosen platoon Sgt, by the Captain that commanded the company at Ft. Ord, Ca. He never explained to me why he picked me. I did have 2 years of training in the Calif. Cadet Corp but was never higher than a corporal. I also was chosen by the Platoon to go to leadership academy. It qualified me to assume a platoon at AIT.
My final command of troops was as the unit commander of the 100+ men that with me went to Ft. Benning GA. We later picked up on the train an officer who was by law my commander.

Who is he more qualified than? He has very little administrative experience and no government administrative experience.
I'll take a person who has field experience over what you think is important any day. Now go pound sand.
Trump is going to be YOUR president, and you're going to like it whether you like it or not. :auiqs.jpg:
And, say hello to the next Secretary of Defense while you're at it..

Look just because Lloyd hid his swole-up pecker is no reason to kick an affirmative action guy when he's down.
Austin the General when in the Army took 41 years to finally get as high he retired.

You’re quite emotional.

I doubt you’ll ever understand how foolish you guys look.

Excellent.... Perhaps he will be immune to the mafioso contract traditions of the conventional pentagon pilfering Patrons.

Biden put in a civilian position a man that spent 41 years to retire as a 4 star general.

Key points about rapid promotion to 4-star general:
  • Timeframe:
A typical career path to reach a 4-star rank usually takes close to 25 years, with promotions occurring through various officer ranks like lieutenant, captain, major, lieutenant colonel, colonel, brigadier general, major general, and lieutenant general.

  • Exceptional Performance:
To accelerate promotions, an officer must consistently demonstrate exceptional leadership abilities, strategic thinking, and successful command experience in high-pressure situations.

  • Critical Need:
Wartime scenarios or major military operations can create situations where a rapid promotion to a 4-star rank might be necessary to fill a crucial leadership position.

  • Political Considerations:
Promotions to high-ranking general officer positions also involve political considerations and Senate confirmation, further impacting the speed of promotion.

Factors that could contribute to a faster promotion:
  • Combat experience and success in major conflicts:
Leading troops effectively in combat situations can significantly boost an officer's reputation and promotion prospects.

  • Innovative leadership and strategic thinking:
Demonstrating the ability to develop new tactics, strategies, and approaches to complex military challenges can be highly valued.

  • Joint duty assignments:
Serving in joint commands with other branches of the military can broaden an officer's perspective and enhance their promotion potential.

  • Advanced education and professional development:
Holding relevant graduate degrees and completing prestigious military education programs can be beneficial.

It was no grilling, it was just a character smear.
He's as qualified if not more qualified than most.
Horseshit. He drove a fifty person charity into bankruptcy. THATS IT. This is the largest government into in the US. He doesn't have a clue. The bureaucrats are going to bone him.

I do believe Biden is more concerned with Dei than qualifications

You must be talking about Lloyd Austin. He will soon be booted out.

Yeah. We definitely need to have accountability for Trump surrendering to the Taliban, and negotiating the release of 5000 ISIS fighters.
Keep pretending Biden was not president when the shit hit the fan.
