You do not know that. Upsets happen all the time, that's one reason the game is played rather than just sitting around and prognosticating about who would beat who. I bet most people thought Georgia was going to beat Alabama before this past weekend.
The problem for you here is that I’m within the realm of reality as far as the CFP, you’re the ideologue. I can differentiate between what should be as far as what is, and what should be in general.
Let’s just list facts:
1. FSU had the easiest schedule
2. FSU didn’t beat a top 10 team
3. FSU looked pedestrian against average talent in the 3 games after their star QB got injured
4. Alabama beat the at-the-time #1 team in the nation, and their only loss is to now #3 Texas.
5. If you polled 1000 sports fans, and asked who would win alabama vs FSU, only FSU mothers of players would say FSU.
6. The CFP only has 4 spots, and their job is to pick the “4 best teams”
FSU is not one of the 4 best teams in the nation. Yes, if you want to stretch to the ideologue philosophical.. Nobody knows anything for sure. Okay, good, we’ve got that random comfy, whimsical phrase out of the way, Now let’s get to iron cold reality. given what we DO know, Bama Is to be considered a better team than FSU by any metric, that’s basically a fact. Stop lying to yourself lol
And I hate Alabama, and I don’t like the SEC. I’m a Michigan fan, it’s in my interest to have a weak team like FSU in at #4. But yet, even I find your point pretty ridiculous
Who do you think Michigan would rather play? FSU or Bama? Want to know who belongs in the playoffs? The team that loses that poll. And you know us Michigan fans would love to see FSU on the other side rather than Bama.
