College playoffs. Who should it be?

That's why they play the game.

What gives you the impression that Texas is better than Washington?

Washington beat them last year, and before you go off with......that was last year, the Huskies Returned Virtually Everyone.
There is a perception of West Coast teams whether true or not.

WASH pass defense is not great. That’ why people squirm. ORE wins that game with one more possession. But give WASH credit for a good start and able to hang on.
Huskies were ahead by 10 with 2:44 to go.
Oregon got One More Possession, and it wasn't enough, now was it.

Sure, that's why the Huskies easily handled Texas last time they played.

huh? ORE score like 80 yds in 2 plays? Then WASH got the ball and got the needed one first down then able to run out the clock.

last year means nothing. But WASH may be able to outscore TX. Nobody said WASH is not really good? I didn’t? They beat ORE twice and ORE st. once. Maybe AZ & Utah also?

Yes, they needed 2 Possessions, Not One.
If only Oregon hadn't been down by 10 points with 2:44 left in the game.

Ok we got Washington and Michigan both undefeated taking the top two spots. Now the hard part.

UT and Alabama are the obvious next best two teams. Florida is down to their third string QB but is undefeated. Hard to leave them out, so what do you do?
Florida is not in the running; FSU is, but they're not at full strength. Our second string would be in the game, but it isn't going to happen.

I think Michigan committed far too many violations to be in the playoffs. A coach not on the sidelines is a big deal. He's watching and in direct contact with coaches on the field.

That was last year. Different story this year. Game on!
The response was to 22lcidw , who claimed that perception about WC Teams.
Which supposedly dates father back than this season.

Also, if last year(S) were different, then WHY do SEC supporters continually bring up past years?

You can bring up whichever year you want. I’m just a Longhorn talking mess to a Huskie. It’s on this year. Get ready for the horns :)

Last year was last year. Things have changed. Washington has a great team but so does Texas, Alabama and Michigan

For a long time, the SEC ruled with the big 10 behind it.

Didn't Washington make the playoffs a few years ago?

Seems to me Alabama mopped the floor with them. And no, it is not the same year. But PAC-12 teams tend to have high powered offenses and nearly no defense. Their conference opponents all do it the same. Then they meet a team with a hungry defense and things go south.

Defense wins championships

Florida State plays Georgia in the Orange Bowl, glad FSU didn't get into the foursome, Georgia vs. the best defense in the country.
It should be a good game

But typically not the same as a regular season matchup because often many of the best players sit out

1. This isn't the NFL.
2. Did you actually think they'd leave the SEC champs out of the playoffs?
Someone had to miss the playoffs

5 teams does not fit into 4 playoff spots
