College playoffs. Who should it be?

If you dont understand that there are levels to this then it's not worth having the conversation.

Levels set by the "committee". UCF beat AUB badly. NMSU beat AUB badly. TULANE beat USC to name a few. We shall see about Liberty vs. #1 College offense (maybe of all time?). The TV people decide that certain groups are better than others. Not me.

12 teams is pretty stupid. It should be 16.

I am pissed at FSU. They could have scored another 7 points instead of just taking a knee for 3 plays. I thought at the time the coach was making a big mistake by doing this. Now he paid the price for being old school. I hope he learned something.
Wow. So because he didn't blow the team out, it wasn't as impressive of a win.

I have to assume FSU's schedule was really weak. Like I said, Michigan's was except for Ohio State. That win is the only win that qualifies them to be in the top 4. None of their other wins were against anyone.

The SEC overall wasn’t as strong as it usually is agreed
I hope this new transfer portal has made things better. I heard Sabin would recruit 2 or 3 good players for each position and those 2nd and 3rd stringers were stuck at Bama. Today, they can transfer and be playing for someone else next year.

But I also heard that Bama is now starting to benefit from this new rule. They are able to steal away players from teams. So if Bama needs a safety, they can steal one from another school. After the kid has proved himself for a year at a lesser school.

Auburn isn't even in the top 25.

FSUs schedule was the weakest of all teams being considered, and they had no top 10 wins

Michigan beat Penn St and Ohio St. That’s about it. Way too powder puff for my tastes.

But don’t worry, next year Michigan has Washington, Oregon, USC, Ohio State, and Texas

Murderers row geez

yep
don't shoot the messenger I am just telling you how people perceive things.

You assume wrong. FSU's schedule was not really weak.
The played an ACC schedule and also 2 power 5 schools not in the ACC rather than crappy schools.

Try to understand this. FSU did not get in because of two reasons. 1) It was not a perceptually powerful win over Louisville and humans base most of what they do/think on such crap. 2) their QB had a season ending injury. This was the key to teh committee screwing over FSU. It says right in he criteria that they should take injuries into account. This became the excuse.

FSU now isn’t the FSU of all year.. they lost their QB. They are a new, decreased version of earlier FSU. The decreased version doesn’t jump over Alabama

Why play any games at all then? If we are not going to give credit for what the team did?

How fuckin insane.

Do we adjust standings because of injuries? Do we subtract a win because a team later has an injury? Do you see how this goes against TEAM sports? You win or you don't, as a team.

Do we adjust standings because of injuries?
In pro sports no
In the CFP yes, and if there’s only 4 spots we should, if the goal is “the best 4 teams”

“The best 4 teams”

If FSU is so good, put your money where your whimsical mouth is and bet me, I’ll take Georgia. $20 over Venmo. Deal?

FSU #4 in season ending RPI.
Texas #7 in season ending RPI.

I don't understand why we play all year long if we are not going to reward a season of sucess.
It's ridiculous. Or, stop calling it a team sport because the team earned a top 4 spot.

Wait, Are they playing each other?

Isn't FSU going to play in a bowl game? Do they have to play Georgia?

If Ohio State wasn't undefeated, ranked in the top 4 when Michigan beat them, I'd say you could make the same argument against Michigan. Who did they play?

Then I'd say the top 4 would be Bama, Texas, Georgia Washington

But we beat Ohio State. God I loved it.
Who did UGA play? Alabama? All these rankings are based on opinion and most of those opinions are made before any games are even played. Look at LSU. They have 3 losses, zero wins against anyone and are ranked 13. But that's one of the wins people use in support of Alabama. Same with MizzU. 2 losses, no wins against anyone and they are UGA's 'signature win" because they stay in the top 10. why?
