Over the last week or so, CNN has spent a lot of time portraying Doctors Fauci and Birx as heroes who were battling an unscientific, irresponsible Trump White House, and claiming that Trump and Republican governors are responsible for many of the COVID-19 deaths. The facts refute this picture and actually suggest the opposite.

Let's compare the case death rates of two states that imposed severe lockdowns with those of two states that did not. New York and Michigan imposed extremely restrictive lockdown measures. Florida opted for very moderate lockdown measures. South Dakota did not impose any lockdown measures. New York and Michigan have had far higher case death rates than Florida and South Dakota.

New York
2.68% case death rate
1.85 million cases
49,537 deaths

Florida
1.63% case death rate
2.04 million cases
33,177 deaths

Michigan
4.64% case death rate
723,000 cases
33,177 deaths

South Dakota
1.66% case death rate
117,000 cases
1,933 deaths

As The Great Barrington Declaration argues, with moderate, data-driven, targeted lockdown measures, instead of one-size-fits-all lockdown measures, we could have greatly reduced the death toll and also vastly reduced the damage to our economy. It was not a matter of shut down the economy or kill hundreds of thousands of people.

Birx is trying her damndest to be rehabilitated.

It's not working.

Her lil interview backfired, like a USMB rightwing thread.

They were. While I don't feel a lot pity for Birx because she enabled Trump, I do understand why she did what she did. The look on her face the day Trump gave his speech about injecting disinfectants and introducing UV light into the body "in some other way" was priceless. She knew she was dealing with a complete moron. Fauci didn't get tangled up in Trump's orbit but stood in and took the punches. As for your numbers, nice job at cherry picking. Let's start off straight up by saying that I have no faith or confidence in Florida's numbers (nor South Dakota's). Both states run by Republican governors loyal to Trump. DeSantis and Cuomo will have their day of reckoning. And South Dakota? You're comparing them against the other three states? What is SD, 46th in population. 48th in population density? C'mon.

We have over half a million people dead. And before we argue about lockdowns, I believe they were not largely necessary. If people could just be convinced into doing the right thing and we had a real leader in the WH that was actually interested in the job, most of the economic and public health carnage..could have been avoided.

Fauci the hero who lied and said masks dont work?

Did you really just list New York City in direct comparison with South Dakota?

Like, are you ****ing serious? lmao.

God y'all just totally live in some fake world, wow. "Derrr hurr let's take a look at the deaths in this city of 9 million people and compare it to the deaths in South Dakota with 500 people"

This is just another argument for herd immunity. The declaration is just signed by those who disagree using no studies. It just argues that those at low risk should go about their business. It does not address that the virus is contagious and those with a high risk can get it from the asymptomatic group. The declaration is from economist who are playing doctors. Much like Trump with his early suggestions for treatment and a cure. Which are current not being used by anyone.

The health organizations disagree.

So who to believe the economist or the health organization. Well by examine their priority and expertise it obvious. Economist have no health concerns but just worry about the economy.

Well the economy goes up and down based on many factors throughout history. The great depression , housing collapse, Reaganomics. None were health issues. Oil and gas prices and other factors.

The thing is that the economy always rebounds. People who die do not. They may haunt you but you should just ignore them.

Masks are used in hospital settings. So one would have to assume they work. Yet there is a difference in type of masks and the number of layers which makes a difference. The cost is also a factor. Yeah hospitals can afford medical grade masks but not everyone can. So it does become a issue of is it better than nothing.

You never say anything valuable or true. You think an avatar with a guy pointing to his head makes up for it?
