Over the last 2 years I watched at least 50 hours of CNN, as
well as at least 50 hours of FOX News.

* Is it just a coincidence that each one levels almost exactly
the same charges at the other at nearly the same time?

* Is it just a coincidence that when one starts a new scandal
about the other, the other finds a new scandal about it's
opposite counterpart?

* Is it just a coincidence that both operate out of the same
building in New York at 1211 Avenue of the America's?

* Is it just possible they work together to keep Conservatives
and Liberals hating each other, simply to drive up their ratings
and boost their ad $$?

* Is it possible the American people are being played for
suckers by both of these huge companies?

Our national press (whatever that is at this point) has become completely distorted and perverted by the internet (and to a lesser degree, talk radio).

I can't think of an element of our society that is causing more damage than what passes for "news" sources now. It is a a complete free-for-all, absolutely no standards, any "fact" can be made up on the spot. It's the main reason the country has sunk into two separate and competing realities.

It's the biggest emergency we have, and there appears to be no way to fix it.

The best, most vanilla reporting I see on a regular basis is when local television covers national news stories.

Unfortunately they don't/can't spend much time on it.

I also watch both CNN and FNC to see the difference in coverage of "news" shows.
FNC has Bret Baier and CNN has theirs. CNN is very anti-Trump and anti-GOP.
Viewers can see it too, that's why FNC has many more viewers, they hate MSM propaganda.

I wonder if you would mind posting some detail about the charges and counter charges each has leveled against the other. I'd like to be able to research their validity.

It is widely recognized that online news outlets compete for "eyeballs" by being hyperbolic in the language they use in reporting stories. Anyone reading news content online is certainly aware of that and should be filtering out of the noise.

However, with respect to cable news, the cohort of Faux, OAN, and Newsmax have no peers when it comes to subtly, and at times overtly, misinforming their respective audiences. I feel comfortable putting them in the category of propaganda.

How else does one explain the onslaught of misinformation regurgitated on this board and others on a daily basis by consumers of right wing oriented media?
