The old parties will cling to power like dictators using firewall-coalitions (the strongest party does not necessarily make up the gov) as long as possible but they won´t change their policies and in the end it will be the AfD that governs alone.

According to the exit poll conducted by Infratest dimap for ARD, the AfD also emerged as the strongest party among 18- to 24-year-olds with 21 percent of the vote. The SPD came in second in this age group with 19 percent. Despite its status as a youth party, the Left Party only garnered 16 percent – closely followed by the CDU with 15 percent.
