Thats great, but they are coming through the ports.
Exactly.
Stragglers cross in relatively small numbers over the Rio Grande on Texas' 1,200 mile stretch as well as through the inhospitable and largely innacessible desert stretches between Santa Theresa NM and San Diego CA, but those numbers are negligible and many of those crossers are apprehended and deported.
The vast majority of these people are coming right through Customs in literal seas of people who commute back and forth across the international border daily.
What people who don't live on the border and whom have never even seen it don't seem to realize is that in these giant, urban ports of entry things just aren't black and white. Other than a bright yellow line on the street and sidewalk that you step or drive over going from one side to the other you are traveling through a weird "grey zone" where you can't even really tell one side of this border from another. Consequently the "border" in these places is extremely porous with the economy and culture of one side of the yellow line (and both countries) vitally linked to one another.
In these urban areas there are already walls, and a heavy BP presence, and dogs, and aerostat surveillance, and detection sensors, and on and on.
That is how those of us who know the border realize how utterly ridiculous calls to "build a wall" are for addressing our illegal immigration problem.

Here are some stats on the El Paso/Ciudad Juarez ports of entry:

In 2023, northbound border crossings in the Paso del Norte region saw a daily average of
35,172 passenger vehicles (12.838 million annual), 15,532 pedestrians (5.669 million annual) and 2,937 commercial vehicles (916,332 annual).

And San Ysidro CA

The border crossing at San Ysidro, California accommodated 15,845,661 cars entering the U.S. from Mexico in 2023, a 3.2 percent increase from 2022. San Ysidro also accommodated 17.4 percent of incoming pedestrian crossings from Mexico in 2023, a 2.5 percent increase from 2022.

There is no simple answer or solution to our southern border
Weren't you alive while Trump was president?...
The way to close the border is to stop welcoming them for one and stop the freebies and incentives... turn them back at the border finish the wall and and start to deport them... they will stop coming.... there.... simple....

Nostra has already demonstrated his or her complete ignorance on the subject of our southern border in this thread so his or her opinion doesn't have much ceedibility.
Really? Seems to me you are the one who thought the wall was built in the middle of the river on shifting sand, Simp.:laugh2:

I owned you the moment you tried posting an old pic of an abandoned section of wall beside the river pretending that it was new Trump wall. Silly dancing bananna's don't change that.

Try to understand this.
My original statement was that a wall is a stupid idea because you CANNOT build a wall down the center of the Rio Grande.
You CANNOT.
Get it?
Now, for some reason YOU disagreed with my statement therefore the onus is actually on YOU to provide an example that disproves my claim.
In other words it is on YOU to provide the pic of said wall right in the river.
See, that's how logic works.
You TRIED to post that very pic yesterday but remember I busted you for posting a fake pic that obviously was NOT where you were trying to claim it was.
Try again you ignorant cuck.

Concrete sets under water. They can build a wall anywhere.

There is no simple answer or solution to our southern border humanitarian crisis
You’re right, it hasn’t simple… it’s a defense in depth utilizing minefields, machine gun emplacements, concertina wire, barriers and other defenses to ensure NOTHING goes either way across the border
