Our nation's Leftists are having a collective Hissy Fit over the recent USSC decision shooting down Louisiana's gambit to ensure a Congressional district that is dominated by Americans of Black African heritage (aka "Black folks").

Constitutional questions aside, consider the underlying assumptions of this collective outrage. The assumption is that Black folks in Louisiana CANNOT be adequately represented by anyone who is not also Black. No White person can represent them. Does that mean that Barry Soetoro was not adequately representing White and Asian Americans during his two awful terms?

The hyperbole is astounding. I am seeing Democrats claiming that this decision takes away Black voting rights!

The Voting Rights Act was based on that assumption as well. Maybe Black folks need to consider producing candidates with universal appeal. OR maybe they need to consider whether it is appropriate for government officials in any capacity should be doing stuff that is targeted at EVERYONE, and not just a single demographic.

Oblama was half white and half black.

The simple way to solve this is to have Proportional Representation.

So all people who see things the same way can vote for the person they want to represent them. A black liberal in Louisiana and a black liberal in Washington state can both vote for the same person.

That's called DEMOCRACY.

Not the shit where gerrymandering is happening all over because both sides are cheats and love their two party dictatorship.

Or they need to accept the fact that being 13% of the population, they're not going to be "in charge" of much.

Just say the quiet part out loud.

Separation is the solution.

Not what I said at all.

Proportional Representation allows people to have a voice. People have different views and those views should be heard.

Right now with two parties almost nobody's voice is heard unless they get VIOLENT.

Your solution will never fly. Anyone with a functioning brain can see the problem. Blacks admitted this. They don’t believe their views align the most with whites and less with other ethnic groups. They vote as a collective majority of the time. What Democrats are proposing is illegal according to the Constitution, the same Constitution they love to lecture Trump about. If for example 10% blacks live in a majority white district, then they have to put up with how the majority vote as long as no laws were broken and everyone gets a vote. This isn’t exclusive to blacks. Republicans living in the SF Bay Area voices are never heard because Democrat voters overwhelmingly surrounding them. Would Democrats be ok if Republicans draw a gnarly map with every Republican household in the Bay Area to secure the district. The answer from Democrats is obvious.

Don’t want to deal with this and end political violence, separate. It’s possible as I don’t believe both sides can coexist. The country may have the same flag and same Constitution but in reality, it’s us vs them mentality for the past two decades.

The borders of Europe have been changing on and off for the past several hundred if not thousand years because coexistence is impossible. Kosovans believed they cannot coexist with Yugoslavians. Kosovo was not allowed to separate. War follows. The same goes for East Timor. Timorians cannot coexist with Indonesian. Both sides separated. Sudan and S. Sudan experienced the same. Why can’t this country do it? You can argue the law or Constitution does not allow separation but when was the last time both sides follow the law down to dot the i or cross the t?

Yes, it "won't fly".

Why?

A) because every time I mention it, people's response is something like "but we have that already" or "but this isn't Germany" or "I'm too stupid to actually look things up on the internet".

B) Because the US is controlled by the rich and they do whatever they want and the people have a vote, but no power to change anything unless they really try, and not trying goes back to A).

The problem with "views" in the US is that there aren't many, because there really isn't a political system in place which promotes differing views.

What happens is some rich person pays people to come up with something they think one particular group will like, and they run with that.

But with PR you'd have real views coming out of multiple political parties and people trying to find out what people want, rather than telling people what they want.

I find on a lot of issues there are two sides and both sides are hilariously WRONG.

You say co-existence is impossible. Then make everyone have their own country with their own laws. If I want to invade your country, and you can't stop me, well then, **** you, your country is mine.

So, survival of the fittest and that's probably not you, or me.

So it'll just be a dictatorship. Maybe that's what excites you.

If you ever lived in Louisiana, you would know that is true.

I've lived in LA all my life. The only reason blacks here need to be represented by a black is only another black will want to give them the handouts that they so desire.

Thank you for making my point for me with your attitude, good ol boy.
