The whole idea isn't about the climate, it's about taking advantage of the emotional turmoil caused by a fluctuating climate. We've known that the northern hemisphere has been coming out of a mini-ice age for a hundred years. We also now know that on a geologic time scale of millions of years, we are due for a global temperature increase. The cause very well may be fluctuations in the suns output or other things we have no control over.

But the socialists are very sneaky. They see this as a way to scare people into giving up their freedoms and seizing control. Control and Power.

Old Rocks I found the actual graph of global temperature (well, Oxygen level which is related to temperature) over geologic time...this one isn't out of my ass ;-)
