Enough is enough. I am sick and tired of this anti american stinko. Yes I am sorry for her loss. But look at patriots like Debbie Lee. Her son was the first navy SEAL killed in Iraq. And she is out telling people that they need to support the war the troops and the mission

She needs to be charged as a habitual criminal. She has been arrested sereral times. She is severly mentally unbalanced. It is just a matter of time until she snaps and tries to hurt the President, Vice President or members of the House. Her followers(The Nerd Herd) are getting close one assaulted a police officer today.

Yes lets just make it the 3 strike law for her god knows shes got like 10 now

Ah so now we want to figure out a way to silence and punish dissenters and protesters. So much for the concept and notion of freedom.

Dissenters and protesters? How about delusional nutjob disgracing herself by politicizing her son's death based on a decision HE made?

But i can easily see how you can identify with her.

All the "delusional nutjob disgracing herself and politisizing her sons death" is your OPINION. Of course you are entitled to it, but its odd how many people wish prison on her and would cheer it....not because she has actually committed any CRIME worthy of prison, but rather its because they dont like her dissenting and protesting. They dont like what she says and her exercizing her democratic rights. That dosent sound like people who cherish freedom and democratic principles.

Actually she HAS committed crimes that routinely land less known people in jail. But being who she is she never does any time for them.

Oh please, dissent has always gone this way and its not a CRIME worthy of prison. In fact it is to be ENCOURAGED. Without dissent we wouldnt have any trace of democracy. I doubt you truly VALUE democratic principles as you are so vividly illustrating.

Remind me where you live again? Then talk about who believes in this country, its laws and its Ideals.

Well I guess when you cant stick to the merits of the issue you can only rely on trying to make it personal.

I am an american citizen, have to file my taxes every year just like you do and I have the right to vote as well.

You never made the statement you were glad you got out of the Country with your family before it was to late? That is pertinent to the discussion. It shows you have no convictions and no faith in a country you do nothing but attack.

Sheehan is an idiot, BUT guess what? She didn't run away and brag about how glad she is to have escaped.

I didnt RUN AWAY, I moved and am happy with that choice. I already stated that repeatedly.

Obviously I am glad and many of the reasons I am glad are the SAME things that I complain about regarding the US. I have ZERO faith in the US govt, its a corrupted rotted mess. I have faith that the people (like people all over the globe) will eventually change things but it will be a long road. People tend to take a LARGE amount of shit before they stand up and demand the changes that are so desperately needed. Its human nature.

Wrong on BOTH counts.

First, its not that they don't like what she has to say, or that she is exercising her democratic rights, it's the WAY she goes about doing it. MOST of what she claims to be doing for freedom is lost in HER actions. There are many ways to accomplish a task, her methods are only in question.

Second, I would say most people on this board cherish freedom , including you Ruby, so your questioning their democratic principles is attacking the person NOT the issue.:eusa_naughty:

I disagree, its always the mantra that its the "way" they do it thats the problem. But the its really an objection to content.

An example, I am pro-choice and therefore I dont agree with anything the pro-lifers say really. But I do encourage them to keep making their voices heard and exercize their rights. They have blocked clinics and that isnt the way to go about it but I wouldnt pretend they should go to PRISON for it. They broke a nuisance law and its the price we pay to KEEP dissent alive and well and anyone that would say they are CRIMNAL and should be put into a prison I would DISAGREE with strongly.

In fact when I was pregnant with my son (was in delaware at the time) and was going for one of my normal appts there were protesters there (the health service also offered abortions)....they made it a huge pain in the ass that day and it took me over 2 hours to accomplish that dam appt and the police were great about making sure big pregos like me were able to get into the building safely. There were people trying to block the way (which was ironic since many of us were there to nurture our growing fetuses)....and some were indeed arrested for obstructing the entrance. But they were not criminals and they certainly werent going to prison over it. Its usually a detainment for a short time and a fine.

I understand where your coming from Ruby, but it go's beyond "CONTENT", and in my opinion, THAT is where Cyndy looses her audience. It's how its delivered, and its the political base, that she is seeking to enhance, and promote, that raises the hairs on the ones that condemn her.

Am I wrong?

Good for ya gal! I too am pro-choice, and think those that block access to clinics SHOULD be arrested.

I think BLOCKING access goes BEYOND the right of dissent, and IS a criminal action.

On this we DO disagree.

They, the people making in difficult, and dangerous for you to attend to your business, should be ashamed of themselves, and should be held CRIMINALLY accountable.

Well you arent wrong to critisize of course, you are absolutely entitled to you opinion and to voice it....I just dont think its correct for us to criminalize dissent.

Yes they should endure the nuisance charge and penalty but NO MORE. I dont consider them "criminal". The only actions I condone against them are to remove them from the doorway and if needed, the area. I would like to see us drop fines and limit legal action to removing the ones OBSTRUCTING paths and dooways....but I would like them to only move those people to be with the main protesters and support their right to remain and be loud and be a generalized nuisance.

Yep, afraid we do disagree. I dont find it CRIMINAL, I find it a normal process and inconvenience of dissent and the concept of dissent is soooooo important that the nuisance of having to move the protester back a bit or remove from the area is well worth it to maintain our freedom of dissent.

Even though I disagree whole-heartedly with their cause, I dont think they should be ashamed of themselves...I feel the opposite. They should, and we all should, be proud that they are willing to exercize and thereby strengthen our democratic practices and concepts. I dont think any of them MEANT to make it dangerous....whenever there are large crowds there can be danger.

It becomes all of our responsibility to have a well trained and well behaved police force who can assist in keeping it safe for all involved (which I think the police did a great job of that day). The police that day did not abuse any of the protesters and they did a great job of helping people like me by physically escorting me all the way inside as they did with numerous other women. I know it cant always go that well though, no matter how well we set things up.

Debbie Lee can never understand the loss that Cindy Sheehan and others have suffered or feel the same level of grief over the loss of her son as they feel and the reason for that is simple. She has the comfort of believing in the war and believing her son died for a good cause while Cindy Sheehan and others don't have that. You can speak all the platitudes you want about how you are sorry for her loss but the truth is that you weren't sorry enough not to vote the way you did (and do) which resulted in his death. I am sure Cindy Sheehan and others who lost loved ones in a war that is unjust don't feel any less grief because Ms. Lee also lost a son. They don't suddenly forgive her and their anger at Ms. Lee and the others whose votes caused their loved ones deaths increases when they see them mock the loss of their loved ones by attempting to belittle the real grief they have caused them and their families by suggesting that they have lost loved ones too. So Ms. Lee has no right to say to the loved ones of those who died, in what they believe to be an unjust war, that she understands their loss because she doesn't and can never understand the their loss or grief.

How in the hell can you post this crap??? A mother's grief is measured by YOUR political leanings??? One mother's grief over the loss of a son has more merit than another's because one of them has a political agenda that you happen to agree with?

More likely, you want to present Ms. Sheehan as a sympathetic figure because she represents your twisted position and marginalize Ms. Lee's loss because she represents diametric opposition to your insanity.

I may be a bay killing warmonger but even I have more compassion than you display in this post!

I doubt that her son chose to die but I do not know his opinion on the war in Iraq but I do know that there are soldiers and their families who are opposed to the war. The decision to go into this war was political and that decision directly led to her son's death and she has every right to condemn those who caused her son to die based on their opinion. It is clear that this war was not a war of defense and that it was a war of choice and what it comes down to is that those who support this war think that they have the right to send our loved ones to fight and die for their opinions. They don't join the military to fight and to die for other people's opinions instead they join to defend their country. You made it personal WHEN YOUR VOTE KILLED HER SON ASSHOLE.
