Cincinnati was screwed over

When he pushed (not hit) Mahomes, Mahomes foot was just leaving the OB line. It was nowhere near an illegal hit. In fact, when he is still in bounds you can see #58 was a mere foot or two away from him at the most. In the NFL, it is pretty hard to hold up on every play when you are doing all you can to get at your opponent as fast as you can. These out of bounds hits need to be better looked at --- as well as roughing the passer calls -- and when in doubt, let the play go.

Ossai doesn’t push Mahomes until well after this point. Mahomes is 2:steps out of bounds when the shove happens. That gets flagged every time.

The Chiefs
More yards
More first downs
More time of possession
Fewer turnovers
Better 3rd down efficiency
Better in red zone
More kick return yards
More punt return yards
More sacks
More QB hits
More QB hurries
More TFLs
More yds per play
Fewer penalties

But its the refs fault the Bengals lost…….

I think the real problem in the NFL is how they have embraced gambling. Tune in on Sunday, they'll talk about all the sports books and betting options, etc.

Makes the possibility of gamblers looking to rig games a lot more possible.
And only about a third of the states have legalized it so far. It will only get worse.

Actually, watched in real time, by the time Mahomes was pushed (hard) he was out of bounds. Boy, Mahomes out-ran a defender with a bum ankle! That leg sure looked OK when he really needed it!

It was a foolish mistake. First Cinci talked smack on social media during the week about beating KC and probably fueled them to win at any cost, then insured it with a late QB hit adding 15 yards and ensuring KC had enough to kick the winning TD.

Right. I looked at an overhead camera view and the first time Ossai makes contact with Mahomes his left foot is just a few inches out of bounds. And when someone is just slightly OB and the defenders are running at full speed, the refs have to and do often let any hit at that point go if it is not flagrant. Ossai pushed him and not hard. Admittedly, he could have pushed maybe even a little less hard, but it was anything but a hard hit out of bounds. So for me it comes down to this; if Mahomes did not fall from that push there would not have been a flag thrown. Hard for me to come down hard on Ossai.

He pushed him hard enough the Mahomes went flying through the air off his feet and landed in the players. And he was out of bounds.

RIGHT. But Mahomes DID fall. He flew through the air and crashed. It was a stupid move on Cinci's part as it gained then not an inch and cost them the game.

Bengals bungled again.

I wanted the Bengals. But I am used to heartbreak ---- a Vikings fan since 1969. I will tell you this, not that you will find it interesting. I disowned the Bengals since 1981. I loved Fouts and the Chargers, always. AFC championship game in Cincinnati the temperature is well below zero and the wind chill factor is 59 below zero! The game should never have been played. But as bad as the conditions are, when the Chargers had the ball on offense, Bengals coach Forrest Greg had the maintenance staff open the very large doors of the stadium at the end of one end zone so the winds would whip on the field even more fiercely. It is well documented. I never forgot that, and I never forgave the city for that, until this year. I like your team. Sorry about your loss.

A still photo is not very useful for such a determination.

The refs will throw the flag on that 100 out of 100 times.

I mean, come on, giving the Chiefs 5 downs instead of 4?
 Exactly, the NFL is as much a corrupt cartel as elections are.best post on this thread.

These playoff and Super Bowl games jehanne1431 are as much scripted and as phony as elections and pro wrestling.the nfl wanted the chiefs to come back in dramatic fashion, they wanted him to have heroics after playing on one leg last week against the jaguars,my hunch is they have this one fixed fir the chiefs to win the Super Bowl as well.

The nfl wanted Mahomes to win in dramatic fashion against the bengals to look like a hero playing on one foot the previous week to win that game, that is why my hunch is they will want the chiefs to win another close Super Bowl matchup.

As always you play dodgeball that the refs decided the outcome of the game throwing that penalty instead of letting the players decide the game as well as blatantly ignoring how the ref did not call an obvious holding penalty against a bengals player right in his plain sight on the final drive, Quasar44 and jehanne1431 he always plays dodgeball with those facts that the refs on the final play decided the game not the players.i wanted the chiefs to win as much as the next guy but not like this with the refs deciding it fir them.i want the players decide.i don’t want them to win if the ref is going to ignore an obvious criticalholding penalty right in front of his eyes the entire stadium saw.

And the fact our resident troll unkotore laughs about these facts,I I obviously hit the jackpot. :auiqs.jpg:

These days, the refs will sometimes flag that when it happens *in* bounds, if the QB has already given himself up. Imagine the outrage if, after a whole year of protecting the quarterback at all costs, they had swallowed that one whistle.

You could see it in the reactions of the other Bengals as well. They had to call that.

This happened to KC a few years ago. They were able to come back the next year and win a Superbowl. It seems like every young and up and coming team experiences these "bad calls" that "cost them the game".

Let me remind you Cincinatti had the ball and it was tied with about 6 minutes to go. It was 2nd and 3 years. Instead of running the ball, eating up clock and slowing getting into field goal position, Joe and/or the coach decided to throw bombs. One was incomplete and stopped the clock. The second one was intercepted. So give me a fucking break. Joe had the opportunity to take the clock down to 3 seconds and kick a very makable field goal.

They blew it. But fine if you want to blame the refs.

Do you want the government to ban everything your addictive personality can't stop doing in excess? What about the rest of us? We like a friendly bet and know not to bet with money we can't afford to lose.

And you want to ignore 99.9% of the actual game and focus on the .1%. At what point in the game do the officials just stop throwing flags for violations and "just let the players play the game"? Officials never see every aspect of every play. They "miss" calls all throughout the game. Why arent you butt hurt over Chris Jones getting held on basically every play after the first quarter? If those calls are made the score isnt tied and Mahomes is just kneeling on the ball to run the clock out.

I'm taking no position on whether I think it is right or wrong, or dangerous or benign, just pointing out that that's the way it's going.

Coaching issue

The Bengals committed several mental errors which ended up costing the the win.

Delay of game
Illegal touching
Unsportsmanlike conduct

Not saying the coaches are bad but the team lost focus.

Are people who go on those gambling sites losing their life savings?

We saw after pot was made legal that none of the things they said would happen, happened.

Are you saying there are documented cases of people who have lost all their money since betting was made legal?

We all have to learn our lessons. My nephew thought he could make money in college betting on sports. He won a few weeks but then suddenly he started losing. So he stopped.

I hosted a poker game at my house for over 10 years. Then I started going to the casino's to play. There I found guys who don't care about money as much as I do and they don't fall for my bluffs. So I stopped. My friends ask why I don't host another game. Couple reasons. I never win enough money that I'm happy about it the next day. Or I lose and I'm pissed. And my place is trashed the next day.

Anyways, I would be interested in reading about cases of people who have lost it all since online gambling became legal. Warning. I won't feel sorry for those people and it won't change my mind. I should still be allowed to legally gamble even if you have a gambling problem. Right?
