I’m chasing balloons?. You seem to be chasing your tail . Now you seem to be admitting that the 14th is inadequate for keeping convicted felons from office, at least in most cases. That was not what you were arguing when you started this with post 313. It is not clear that even a conviction for insurection would automatically disqualify someone, especially now that SCOTUS said that it would be up to congress. You still seem rather confusedAh, that is the crucial determinant, isn't it? I've been talking about what the 14th bars and you're chasing weather balloons. Of course, there's nothing barring someone from running for office despite a criminal record, as long as that record doesn't rise to the level of the 14th.
