The key here, the real issue the Democrats can't seem to face, is that half the country hates them. The same can be said of Republicans. That's the nature of the idiotic partisan pissing match we're mired in. Each side thinks that if they win, they can "eradicate" the other. But it doesn't work that way. If half the country hates their leaders, the country is essentially ungovernable. And the country will suffer for it.

It's even worse than that , when trump entered office the number of immigration cases pending was 542, 411. When he left office there were 1,290, 766 cases pending and that doesn't even begin to count all the people waiting on the other side of the border waiting for him to be dethroned. Trump defunded and sabotaged the Immigration Courts because he knew if he wasn't reelected it would hamper any real efforts to get the crisis under control. If he stayed in power he probably believed his super powers alone would hold them back.

Trump knew he took them, Biden did not know. Movers moved them in there. Obviously he never saw them. That's a huge difference. Like trump's offense is like aggravated assault , whereas Biden's is like self-defense. And I'm certain if any other top government employees like Mitch McConnel or Nancy Pelosi had any copies of such documents they probably burned them rather than have the spotlight shine on them in a negative manner. Most politicians aren't as honest as Biden and Pence. This is a wake up call for the people who distribute these documents each copy should be numbered and put in a recall system for no longer than 30 days. It would be nice if the copies could simply self-destruct after a certain period of days or wrote them in ink that fades out. Something obviously needs to be done.

It was far more illegal for Biden to have stolen them originally, than it was for Biden to still have them later.

And it is not at all illegal in any way for Trump to have all the classified docs he wanted, since he was president, so then explicitly exempt from any and all classified doc laws.

You totally misunderstand the law, which is that the presidents ALWAYS are supposed to retain copies of all classified docs they come in contact with, because that is how NARA gets copies in order to satisfy the FOIA.
If these copies would "self-destruct", then FOIA would never get copies, and the public would never get to find out what really happened.
We would have an even worse dictatorship.
