Mr. Christie said the midterms were an actual change point in the history of the party: that its central struggle can no longer be avoided. That struggle is how and why to put Mr. Trump in the rearview mirror. …

The strongest argument: Mr. Trump can’t win, and if you truly seek to win you must disengage from him.

“This is a baseball country,” Mr. Christie said. “It’s always three strikes and you’re out.” Mr. Trump struck out in 2018, 2020 and 2022. He never came close to a plurality of the popular vote. When Mr. Christie ended his tenure as chairman of the RGA, in 2014, there were 31 Republican governors. Next year there will be 26. The reason, he said, is that Mr. Trump weighs the party down and picks candidates based not on issues or electability but personal loyalty. It is an electoral narcissism that is killing the party.

Three strikes and you’re out. Trump’s a loser! Time to move on.

Then maybe he will do the next best thing and run as an Independent to ensure a Neo-Con doesn't win and allow NY policies to be expanded across the country when a Dem wins in 2024.

This "he can't win" sounds a little too sure, similar to how Clinton was overly confident as if she knew something that others didn't. Does Christie, Paul Ryan and other career politicians have special access to privileged information the rest of the country doesn't?

Toxic Trump carries a huge anchor on the GOP's neck. Even the Qtards are beating up on Donald.

Well this is stupid.

So you're also saying 'Biden Can't lose" ?? (or whoever Democrats offer)

Check your meds. Trump could certainly win IF his base would get out and vote. They don't . They won't. So maybe you're right.

Not as much as people heard all about the "massive red wave"... so they didn't think they needed to vote.
It is about motivation.
Poeple 60 years and younger look at voting as annoying. So if they think they don't need to vote - they don't.
So the important thing in 2024 - is to not start declaring victory before it happens.
Democrats are deeeeply into virtue signaling. And voting is a way to virtue signal. So they are motivated to get out and vote.
