Chinese-owned oil tanker hit near Strait of Hormuz in first since Iran conflict began

We have a blockade on Iran.

They can get fucked

Iran closed the Strait to the US and Israel and other hostile nations

You want to start WWIII with a nuclear power, one that supplied many of the parts of our critical infrastructure and is the only supplier of many high tech components that run our economy?

Will that make Bibi smile

Was it smart to attack the Japanese in the Pacific?
Well they attacked us first. So there wasn't really a choice there.

If we're attacking Chinese ships, China can cause all sorts of problems for the US.

Just reason 8,421 why this was a terrible idea from the get-go.

So what this really is: Iran is fighting a proxy war for China...
No. Disrupting the flow of oil hampers China’s economy. The CCP legitimacy is based upon the economy. This is why many of the numbers released by China are skewed for that reason. Anytime their economy is off rail, the CCP always find a boogeyman for distraction, like this charade of ordering firms to ignore US sanctions. After Venezuela and now Iran, China has to response to show toughness to its citizens but in reality, a dog and pony show. Have you noticed no Chinese navy are in the vicinity of the US blockade? China is smart to know that the US navy is not some ragtag navy like the Philippines which China can harass and ram. Challenging US naval power on the open sea is the last thought on China’s mind. China’s only offshore military base is in Djibouti, Africa whereas US has scores of bases in the region.

The endless flow of. Smart projectiles is financed and part sourced by Xi and Putin Nevertheless.....but yes China is starting to feel the oil squeeze too...

It does not say who attacked it but if China challenged the U.S navy and learned that the blockade is real, they may have just learned how serious America is.

President Xi has been running a declining economy and they are trying to ramp up the "CCP is best!" campaign.

This will not inspire their citizens.

A Chinese-owned oil tanker came under attack near the Strait of Hormuz for the first time since the U.S.-Iran conflict began on Thursday.
A report from Chinese media stated that the unnamed vessel was marked "CHINA OWNER & CREW." The ship's deck caught fire from the attack and it remains unclear whether any of its crew were injured.

This was the first time a Chinese oil tanker has been attacked, a person with knowledge of the matter told Chinese outlet Caixin.
China remains a key buyer of Iranian oil, which has been targeted by a US blockade in the Gulf of Oman.
Imagine a guy using an attack to prove how powerful the USA is….and then it turns out out was IRAN that attacked China, and now you can’t say Iran showed they’re in control because you’re a cultist, and now it’s too late to delete your fail-thread.

Or maybe China will turn up with its own navy and see what it can do.

Possibly the UAE was the source of the drone attack?

GoogleAI Overview:

  • "The Vessel: The JV Innovation, a Marshall Islands-flagged and Chinese-owned oil products tanker, was struck by a drone while at anchor near Mina Saqr off the coast of the UAE.
  • Damage: The attack caused a fire on the ship's deck, which was reportedly marked with "CHINA OWNER & CREW" to discourage aggression. No casualties among the Chinese crew were reported."
