China is becoming formidable. They are building a global NAVY. They are catching up. They need to learn how to renew the ships as they age like we do. For most of the ships are newer. That is what is concerning. They are building a third aircraft carrier that has most of the new technologies of our new Ford Class. The first one is conventional when it comes online soon. They have two smaller carrier based on a Russian design. All future carriers will be nuclear. They have the ability to retool quickly as new technologies are added. They can build 4 or so of most ships in what we build one with.
