Perhaps. I don't think China has the military resources to pull off a successful invasion right now and they aren't likely to any time soon.

I would strongly disagree on China lacking the military resources. But I agree if you can understand that China is not thinking in terms of military force.

An amphibious invasion of Taiwan would be a lot more complicated than the D-Day invasion, and that took years of planning and hundreds of ships. The Taiwan straight is wider and unlike the Allied invasion, subterfuge is probably not an option.

Modern war can't be compared to an amphibious invasion. But again, China has no such plans, unless forced to defend aggression by America.

I think it more likely that Taiwan will simply go into a demographic death spiral (they have a very low birth rate) and eventually, China will just sweep them up.

That's always been China's gameplan, roughly speaking.
America must pay the bills to prevent the will of the people from siding with China. It's the Ukraine situation as the latest example. It's Vietnam as an earlier example.

I've always consistently suggested that Trump won't be permitted to give up the Ukraine to Russia. The establishment will never allow that. America has literally invested its future in the elimination of Russia as a Brics superpower.

I don't see Trump selling out Taiwan, but I think our legal case there is much weaker, since we already acknowledge Taiwan as part of China. (As opposed to Ukraine, where we promised to protect their borders if they gave up their nukes. They should have kept their nukes.)

America made other promises to Russia (the S.U.), but lied and broke the promises.

Actually, the Chinese are already getting around this problem by recruiting mail order brides from other countries, and there are a lot of Asian countries where they'd see China as a step of.

Also, The Chinese economy is hardly "failing". Their GDP Growth last year was 5%, compared to 2.8% in the US, and that was before Trump started ******* things up.

Trade with the US only comprises 3% of China's GDP.

Other countries are already talking about increasing trade with China because they are as sick of Trump's bullshit as everyone else is.

So instead of isolating China, he's driving much of the world into China's arms.
