CBS oximeter story

On the CBS Morning News today, a doctor reported that in the early stage of the coronavirus, the victim may have very low blood oxygen levels and not realize it. If caught at this early stage by checking with an oximeter, the patient can receive oxygen treatment that will prevent the need for a ventilator.

Gale King noted that she immediately looked on the internet for oximeters. So did I a few minutes later and discovered that at CVS, oximeters selling for $49.99 (limit two) were already out of stock online. Obviously, people who fear that may have the virus but have no symptoms are going to rush out and buy oximeters so they can self-check their oxygen levels. I expect speculators will try to buy oximeters in bulk so they can resell them at exorbitant prices after they create artificial shortages of the devices.

So, should there be an effort to ramp up production of oximeters? Or will Trump’s advisors tell him to avoid any “socialist” intervention in the marketplace? Trump will then announce it is up to the states to remedy any oximeter shortage.
I hope AMERICAN companies ramp up production of these meters

naturally libs will demand the feds buy the cheapest chinese meters and expect them to be given away free of charge
Yes. Wonder who PAYS for all this "Free" stuff. Maybe Hollywood can tell us.

I bought one of those things for under $5 about a year ago. It was billed as "for fitness purposes only", "Not for medical use". I take it with me for regular check-ups, as recently as yesterday. Every time it has exactly matched the $300 version the doctor uses or is within one (1, liberals) point. I hadn't thought about it being diagnostic for any disease but it does make some sense....

Most of the chips are made in China anyway. They are pretty simple to build
View attachment 327018
They can be made in tne US

Or even Italy where the Arduino was designed
Or even better, made by consumers themselves

they are easy as pie to produce by anyone with a pc

Pretty easy for 1 or 2 for personal use, but mass production requires pretty specific equipment.
Its well within the capability of small to medium size companies

and the perfect opportunity to disengage from china

Who wants to disengage from China? Trump loves China. He was bragging about his genius trade deal with Xi right up until he started taking flak for downplaying the virus threat.
libs sure are bitter

trump responded appropriately to the chinese disease

and he is redressing the trade imbalance with our #1 enemy that gas been neglected for the past 40 years

Trump did not respond appropriate;y to the virus. There is not a single authority from anywhere in the US or around the world, who knows anything about pandemics that will say Trump responded appropriately.
I dont care what your so-called ”authorities” say

including the chinese or the corrupt WHO

they have not responded very well themselves

Of course you don't. You're an idiot Trump supporter. You think science is bad.

You've posted plenty to demonstrate your lack of knowledge and fear of science. It's a little late for you to try to claim otherwise.
