On June 28, former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson gave what was, until then, some of the most shocking testimony of the Jan. 6 hearings.

For her courage, Hutchinson was roundly attacked in right wing circles. Multiple news sources—including the Washington Post, New York Times, and broadcast networks—claimed that anonymous sources had informed them that members of the Secret Service were ready to testify that Hutchinson’s claims were false, and there was no altercation inside the presidential limousine. Both Trump and Trump supporters in Congress made Hutchinson the target of claims that she was a liar, with Trump claiming that Hutchinson was just upset that she had been turned down for a job at Mar-a-Lago because “no one wants her.”

It’s also confirmation that Trump engaged in a treasonous coup attempt to overturn a fair and honest election, that Trump allowed the rightwing terrorist attack on America’s democracy to occur, and that Trump did nothing to stop that rightwing terrorist attack.

No surprise that Trump attacked her.

And yet the "Committee" won't call the Secret Service agents that were actually IN the Presidential limo to testify? Shocking testimony? Well, it's shocking that they would fail to back up a second person account from someone who WASN'T actually in the limo with testimony of those who WERE but I think we all know why that didn't happen! This entire show trial has been a farce from the get go.

Wasnt the timeline on this prior to the riot actually starting? This was during the time when all those people were either walking to the Capital Building or were outside it protesting isnt it?

The speech was given near the WH which is about 2 miles from the Capital building. Let's assume a 1.5 mile walk from the speech to the Capital Building. The average person walks 3-4 miles an hour, but lets say they were hyped up so were running. That's still 10-12 minutes minimum. If Trump were trying to go to the Capital from the speech there's no way the mob had run there and were assaulting the Capital Building before he left the speech.

So her testimony at worst confirms that he wanted to go to the Capitol Building while a large group of his supporters were at the time peacefully protesting outside.

Why is this such a "bomb shell"?

skews and its ilk know all the facts. They simply are too conditioned to resist treading out that leftist spew. They know no other way.

We need to start building the re-education centers. We'll need them soon. Life will be much quieter and calmer when the left cult is locked up and undergoing deprogramming.

It's not conditioning, it's intentional dumbassery.

Dailykos, what a joke.

Meanwhile the J6 sham committee has downgraded the incident from “grabbing the steering wheel” to a “heated discussion”.

They did call them, they choose not to come and lawyered up instead
Do you have proof of that? From what I've seen they volunteered to come forward and were never called. If they did refuse then subpoena THEM the same way this committee subpoenaed so many other witnesses! This "investigation" is a sham. It's not about getting to the truth...it's about putting on a show. They have a script. They read their lines. They edit testimony. They only call on witnesses that will say what they want to hear.

Pretty much. They are just copying the model used for all the "hearings" held by the Repubs after the election.

This is what our country has become, and it is all due to extreme tribalism.
