Can you be critical of your own side?

If you truly cared you would take the time to vote. No candidate for elected office is going to be perfect or check off all your boxes.
And in some elections maybe you skip a race or 2, but someone who doesn't vote at all but what to question other people on party politics...GTFOH!!!
I'm questioning anyway.

"I don't belong to any party" is your tribe. You just don't want to be critical of your own choices.
A tribe has shared vision. I'm not united with anybody politically.

Can you look at your own side and call out the weaknesses, the bad habits, the blind spots, the corruption, the parts you wish were better?
You should be able to.

I have found that in heavy Trump Lovers country that if you so much as sneeze wrong...you are on the blacklist.

Overall, an honest assessment is sometimes tough, but always neccessary.

It's really only tough if people get caught up in the blame game and ignore the necessity to move on and find a solution. Root cause analysis is necessary, but not to tear people down or continue to cycle through nonsense, only properly identify the problem and address the issues.

If people get torn up inside, exhausted, frustrated or put off by the process, then they are doing it wrong and losing track of the actual goal.

I’m not asking what you think about the people you oppose. That part’s easy. Anyone can point out flaws in their enemies. What I’m interested in is whether you can be just as honest about the people you support. Can you look at your own side and call out the weaknesses, the bad habits, the blind spots, the corruption, the parts you wish were better? Most people claim they care about truth, but only apply scrutiny to the outgroup. I want to see how many here can apply the same lens inward. Be specific. Be fair. No whataboutism, no switching targets. Just your side, your critique, your honesty.

If I had my own side, then yes, I could be.

In fact I did this before and then came to find out that "my own side" wasn't actually my own side. So I don't have a side any more.

Just read through it…Bunch of fence sitters all hand wringing, trying to get others to self flagellate themselves….get bent.

Sure.
The world has changed. And I changed too.
It ain't that complicated. When I saw the harm that Bush/Cheney/McCain/Romney had caused us on balance, I realized I could no longer support that kind of agenda.

It is true that Time reveals more about people

I still think Trump is one of the greatest presidents ever, but if asked if he has flaws?? well of course he does.
How important are those flaws? not always so great.. I mean he gets things done and apparently seems to have a plan even when people think he's doing things randomly. He actually makes an attempt to fulfill what he promised which is more than most presidents do.
I dont think anyone here is a fence sitter by talking openly about their perceptions.

In as time increases experience and some knowledge, experience increases wisdom, and an increase in wisdom often changes perspectives. So 'you're correct' would be my answer.

BINGO.
This is the truth. And reflects how many of us feel.

**** yeah.. Schumer fucked up. we were winning and he either lost his nerve or his grip.

He needs to go.

Also Fetterman needs to be replaced STAT. He is walking talking proof that brain damage causes conservatism.

I have numerous other gripes I don't wanna type out right now but yes, I can be very critical of my own side.,

I'm an American

i'm living a rather bad dream right now with sorts on both right and left insisting everything i've believed, trusted, pledged and hoped to aspire to is wrong, trash, dead, beyond salvation

prove me wrong........

In point of fact, John Fetterman is proof that sometimes suffering a stroke knocks sense into you. He's more articulate and clear thinking today than at any time in his brief national political career.
Finally.
One Democrat who makes sense instead of wanting to cause a civil war or create a socialist state.

Man, I see you have a pig in your avatar so maybe a brisket instead of a pork loin, but do you like barbecue and fresh air? I guarantee you that you won't be ready to quit and throw in the towel if you get ahold of some good barbecue and turn that nightmare into something worth saving. **** the rest of these fools, Americans aren't supposed to be quitters no matter what the odds are like.

We probably need to try something different, and perhaps a new look. Always let your principles guide you, but don't ever let them guide you to the darkness.

Of course anyone doing criminal acts does not belong in Congress or the White House. Republicans have to be on board with this because of their hatred for pedophles. Democrats don't like them either. But they still see them as human beings who deserve to be treated with care. , not hatred and punishment.
