Can you be critical of your own side?

I’m not asking what you think about the people you oppose. That part’s easy. Anyone can point out flaws in their enemies. What I’m interested in is whether you can be just as honest about the people you support. Can you look at your own side and call out the weaknesses, the bad habits, the blind spots, the corruption, the parts you wish were better? Most people claim they care about truth, but only apply scrutiny to the outgroup. I want to see how many here can apply the same lens inward. Be specific. Be fair. No whataboutism, no switching targets. Just your side, your critique, your honesty.
By 1990 I began to see more and more evidence that a statement in the Book of Hosea applied to my group of people, Messianic Gentiles, Messianic Jews, or conservative Christians.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge;
because you have rejected knowledge,
I reject you from being a priest to me.
And since you have forgotten the law of your God,
I also will forget your children.
[Hosea 4:6]

The topic that proved to me that my own group were terribly in error was the 'Soul Sleep" doctrine that I have believed in since 1972 or '73 when Evangelist Garner Ted Armstrong got me out of Atheism.

I prayed and asked to be given wisdom and understanding of the big picture so that I would not deceive people as my mentors and teachers had misled me, [even though they may have been sincere but my teachers were incorrect on a great many truths on many important topics].

I am generally a Trump supporter but I am of the belief that there is a way of looking at Climate Change and Stabilization of the Climate that could fit beautifully with his desire to bring Shalom and greater economic cooperation to the Middle East.

I am somewhat disappointed with the advisors who surround President Trump who have not told him about some of these options yet.

You are asking people the one thing that most (99%) can never do. Admit to being wrong.

It takes a real man (or woman) that is not 100% interested in anything but himself, to do something that requires morals, ethics, and principles. Those are in very low supply. One in perhaps 50 or even 100, are able to do that. On this board and on the right side of politics, they do not even exist.

Boy aint that the truth. I've yet to see one post on this thread that says Trump was wrong about anything; just faux regret that he's a lying sack of excrement--and even that gets excused. Men used to be more manly than they are now.

I do it all the time. I think Trump overall is exactly who we need in the presidency right now. But his ego drives me nuts. And some of his ideas - 50-year-mortgages?? - are simply absurd.
I'll take him over any Democrat by a long shot, though.
I agree. He comes up with some doozies but the man is a true American and is literally putting his life up to make America better and fix what has been broken for a long time.
