"I don't belong to any party" is your tribe. You just don't want to be critical of your own choices.

There is some truth in that, and that is why Independents tend to be believe they are more 'thoughtful', and why Libertarians are so damn thoughtful that they have a hard time agreeing with each other. Go to a Libertarian website and I guarantee you that you can find two Libertarians arguing with each other about whether or not the other one is a Libertarian.

Until we figure out how to stop people from thinking that being guided by their principles, means letting their principles guide them into a corner where all they can do is throw down stakes marking territory, and start throwing people who disagree with them out to the wolves, nothing will ever change.

I agree with you and have the same feelings. Trump is kind of an A-hole at times, says cringe worthy things at the wrong times.. there a lot of things about him that I wish was different. I wish he was more presidential and less likely to snipe someone verbally.

Thoug I do understand him being pissed off after the attempt to set him up for Russian Collussion and destroy his first presidency.

And as for swollen ego.. I do suppose it comes along as part of the package that includes his ability to survive under pressure.

He never would have been my first thought as someone to run for president but what really pulled me ove rto his side was the reaaction to him by the Democrats... that was all I needed. After seeing all th elies they constantly put out about him to destroy him... it made all the things about him that I COULD complain about very small in comparisson.

Therefore I rarely complain about Trump? why do it when we constantly are forced to defend him over the relentless B.S. ?

In this way, the Democratic party has really hurt themselves but they are entirely to stupid and greedy to see it.

But I am willing to say that I don't have a wealth of knowledge regarding your activities, have only encountered you in a few threads, and it possible you are far more intelligent, and far less useless, than I could have ever guessed.

What I’m interested in is whether you can be just as honest about the people you support. Can you look at your own side and call out the weaknesses, the bad habits, the blind spots, the corruption, the parts you wish were better? Most people claim they care about truth, but only apply scrutiny to the outgroup. I want to see how many here can apply the same lens inward. Be specific. Be fair. Yeah, I got so wrapped up in the pursuit of my own political desires that I sat out the 2008 Presidential Election, although I did show up and vote for all the other offices or ballot measures. Oddly enough I figured out it accomplished exactly what it was intended to, and that was nothing.

Picking a team is not the best thing for America, the same as holding your nose and voting for the lesser of two evils, won't get you anywhere but evil.

We have to choose something though and start picking up the slack when our representatives fall short. When the people figure we are all on the same team, and the opposing team is the establishment, then maybe we can figure out how to start handling our affairs closer to home where we all have a say-so and further away from the federal government.

Our federal government was established as a democratically elected representative republic, and the individual states that comprise the union are closer to a democracy than the republic should ever be.
