Can you be critical of your own side?

Forever wars. Weakness when taking on the Democrats. Neglecting the middle class. Those are just a few. Not the worse people in the world (that's reserved for Democrats) but too comfortable with the status quo, too timid to break out and try some different approaches.

I tend to believe that the greatest problem the Republicans have is that they suck at offense, and think defense is somehow going to make progress. That's why when the Democrats are in charge we go left, and when the Republicans are in charge we go left a little slower.

I’m not asking what you think about the people you oppose. That part’s easy. Anyone can point out flaws in their enemies. What I’m interested in is whether you can be just as honest about the people you support. Can you look at your own side and call out the weaknesses, the bad habits, the blind spots, the corruption, the parts you wish were better? Most people claim they care about truth, but only apply scrutiny to the outgroup. I want to see how many here can apply the same lens inward. Be specific. Be fair. No whataboutism, no switching targets. Just your side, your critique, your honesty.
What a fascinating subject. To be direct, yes, I can express criticism towards the Party for which I cast my vote. Allow me to provide an example. Trump often behaves like an idiot and a bully, which is more than I can tolerate. I recognize Trump's conduct, and I did vote for him. Frankly, I thought he had learned from his first term. In certain ways, I feel let down; nevertheless, I do not regret my choice to support him, nor do I feel any shame in voicing my criticisms.

The situation unfolds as follows: when you highlight the shortcomings, you are quickly labeled with terms such as "lefty," "leftist," "socialist," and so on.

I am of the school of thought, that until we as the people start figuring out how to talk to each other, without being so defensive about everything, it's all pretty much a useless cause, and won't provide us with anything other than what we have.

Real political and governmental power isn't the answer when that is how everything is being facilitated. The people need to figure out how to start seizing some of that power back, but you are correct that chasing 'the nuts' or pursuing little more than the 'dirty laundry' isn't the answer either.

I think that any coalition that will ever manage to break or significantly weaken the stranglehold the establishment has on the nation, will come from the people. President Trump managed to get some Republicans to step up and buck the system, but that is starting to fade, as people see the failures, and think that one person or one group of people have all the answers.

If Owens, Carlson and Fuentes get people to start talking to each other, and people start looking forward instead of simply trying to defend themselves and their ideology, then maybe, just maybe, we can get somewhere. The answer isn't going to come from the establishment or the people with power, until it's the people that get their power back.
Joe Biden's speech against the blood red background and Military presence scared the holy crap out of me and made me pretty angry. Definitely a turning point.

The harassment of Judge Kavanaugh by the Democrats was so over the top and angering.

The impeachment for Trump's phone call with Ukraine was unbelievable especially since he released the transcript of the call immediately afterwards. The Democrats weren't expecting that and it backfired bigly.
Democrats are a clear and present danger to the United States.

What part of multitude of responses I have posted in this thread responding to the OP did you happen to miss? And how the hell did what you just post address anything in the OP, or reflect anything other than what I have already indicated as the only pile of shit you ever have to offer? You might be just as dumb and useless as I think after all.
Candy is really only good at being a smart-ass. I learned that pretty quickly she is Brainless and blundering. Inept and callus come to mind as well in description of candy corn LOL.

Trump ended those? Nope

lol…

Billionaire tax breaks while you’re paying higher prices because if tariffs do just that.

You’ve been brainwashed
And there it is the Trope of the left. You are unable to think your way out of a paper bag.

Exactly!!!
And that's been my criticism of the GOP for decades.

Jesus, is it humanly possible to more directly quote Democrat Talking Points? "Billionaire tax breaks"? That's right out of the Marxist Handbook For Democrats. Please. Learn to think for yourself. I don't care if billionaires get tax breaks as long as I get them too.

Shrinking away and not fighting hard against Obama was a problem for the repubs.
It sickened me. I would write newspaper editorials asking the Republicans to sac up (in kinder language).
Obama was a disaster who needed to be challenged constantly and the likes of Paul Ryan did everything but give him a massage.
I'll never forget the footage of Obama at the White House Press Dinner where he mocked Trump, who was in the audience and kidding that he'd never be President.
I think it was right then and there that Trump said to himself, "Oh, yeah? Just watch me, pal."
And even in his first term, Trump was a little too squishy for me sometimes. But that's over now. He understands the danger the Democrats represent and how they've done everything they can to destroy him.
Payback time, MFers.

I've criticized Trump before but it's kind of hard for me to considering the fact that he might be a jerk at times but look at what all he has to deal with. He's a nice guy underneath it all it's just that the radical left ticks him off.

Agreed on all points.

But the one thing everything you identified as threat had in common was the federal government.

Why was Justice Kavanaugh threatened? He was threatened because of his position on the Supreme Court and stance on the Dodd's case. As the court ruled, abortion is none of the federal governments business, and they took power the republic had robbed, and handed it back to the democracies in the states. They were also accused of destroying democracy, and trying to shred the US Constitution, when the exact opposite would be the truth.

The constant calls for impeachment are just part of the same mess. We have elections and we should be making better choices or encouraging better candidates to run for office. If you think there is too much money involved politics, then tell your representatives to stop giving everyone and their grandmother money.

The Democrats haven't changed in decades, and the Republicans haven't changed a lot. President Trump did get some Republicans to find where they had left their nuts (no offenses to the females involved that did the same) and buck the establishment. But that is always going to fall apart if we continue to think that the answer is in the federal government or the establishment.

They cannot fix the problem because they are the problem, and I am not just saying that blankly. We are asking the federal government to manage things it was never intended to manage as a republic. That's why they limited the powers the federal government has and expressed the need for states to manage some of their own affairs. Nowadays, people bypass that in attempts to gain support from other states or even larger metro areas, when they cannot achieve what they want on the ground with their neighbors.

That's how we ended up with two teams and everyone needing to choose a side. It is the result of thinking we don't have to figure out a way to get along with our neighbor because someone in Washington DC will make all the choices for the two of us, and we somehow have to be satisfied with that.

If you are America First like Massie and Greene then, no, cannot be critical of your Party. You MUST walk in lockstep with the leadership even if they're leading over a cliff. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

The Biden Administration was certainly a scary bunch. We didn't even know who was leading the country.
Obama was the beginning of my perception that the Democrats will do anything to be in power and say anything that suits their desires true or not.
Trump pretty much calls it like it is

If you are not scared of the power the federal government is stealing from you because you are too busy trying to defend their desire to keep doing it, then you really need to talk to one of your neighbors who disagrees with your politics, and figure out how to stop just fighting each other and turn your focus towards the establishment.

That is why I support Trump shrinking the federal government and getting rid of waste Fraud and Abuse and didn't support Biden at all. I also support getting rid of all of the millions of illegals that Biden let go in our country . Left Wingers are typically nut jobs so I'm not going to go next door with my political opinions but I will tell you on here .

He's a nice guy if you like him and agree with him, but he ain't that nice if you don't. He's kinda far from perfect, but the alternative is a Far-Left democrat with a ridiculously stupid agenda that I cannot support. Mostly I like what he wants to do, but I don't much like how he wants to do it.

Progressive Liberals didn't turn into nutcases on their own and in a large part it was the establishment and what I have been talking about that got them there.

When the federal government and the Department of Education is allowed to rob power from the states, that shit will happen. It goes back to what I was saying about gathering support for crazy ideas from a larger population because you cannot seize your power back and take care of it at the state or local level.

Managing international affairs, national defense, some regulation of interstate commerce and protecting our sovereignty are the responsibilities of our federal government. The reason protecting our national sovereignty is completely ignored by one party, is because they will have you fighting each other about who uses what bathroom which is none of their business.

Start looking for better ways to get your power back and stop letting the establishment lead you around like bull with a ring in its nose to suit their overreaching desires. they want you to get apathetic and stop fighting them, they want you to keep fighting each other and every time to try or make an excuse not to do something different, you are just doing whatever you can to keep us stuck right where we are.

We failed the Progressive Liberals, because we failed to stop it. Thinking that doing the same things that lead to their victory is ever going to make a difference will never really make a difference. It is about power, and when you are comfortable enough to say, "It ain't worth it, here take mine".

I agree but I was talking out of politics Trump seems like a pretty nice guy as I've seen him candidly before. :)
