Can people ever be united?

I think progressives, normal republicans and independents, can coexist, however maga cult individuals should be considered a distinct species, they don't seem to understand reasoning, continue supporting a cult that works against them, take for example the maga cult farmers, they were devastated by the pedophile in chief, however continue supporting him. The thing is that this is a multi generational paradigm, the maga cult is just the last iteration, they are the same people that supported the traitor Charles Lindbergh, then Joseph McCarthy, then the tea party cult, then the completely deluded Sarah Palin, and ultimately the worst criminal rapist pedophile in history, trump. The maga cult has evolved into an inferior level of reasoning and intelligence and thus, should be considered a new species.

THEY DONT THINK JUST LIKE MEEEEEEEEEEEE

and the OP wonders why we have no respect for people like this.

What did I make excuses for?
For why some people aren't included.

"Jesus came to unify his believers."

Did he really? Or did he come to try to help humanity as a whole become unified?

He came for Israel the first time. When he returns it will be for everyone.

Which side of the conversation do you think he'd be on if he were here posting on this forum right now?

I can't speculate on that. When he returns he will be busy with other things.

The subject of agreement isn't as simple as you seem to be making it. Lots of nuances in there.

I think Jesus would agree with those who agree with him. He has as much as said, "My way or the highway".
Hopefully you understand why I'm disappointed by your answer.

I like people. I respect them. I admire them. I’m proud of how far we’ve come, through adversity, impossible odds, and countless challenges. But sometimes it feels like we fail to see our connectedness. We’ve learned to fear, distrust, and even hate each other. The thing is, your enemy isn’t inherently evil. They just grew up in and understood a different world than you did. So I wonder, can this ever be repaired? Are we doomed to division and hatred, or is it still possible for humanity to unite, to discover our shared bonds?
Depends what you mean. I don’t think people should 100 percent agree all the time, you get that sort of result in leftist regimes like Saddam’s Iraq and the CCP.

But, people should be united around their country, respect for each other, and the rule of law. Obviously there are going to be some disagreements, but I think for the most part today the country is united in that regard
This is why you see the majority of the nation united, over 63 percent, believing the demafasict party is a negative for the United States

...pardon?
An Islamic Mohammed loving friend who worked security at the Gay Pulse club in Orlando killed 50 gays and put another 50 into hospitals. He did it so easily. He was of Islamic doctrine. he was your friend and buddy. The world then promoted the gay colors over the Aerica flag. Of course, human DNA of survival and primal ways will come to power at some point and reduction of population will occur which include many groups.

So are you directing this question specifically to Americans, and America only?

You're angling for simple agreement. I'm saying it's not that simple. Agreeing "in principle" isn't agreeing in fact. My brother agreed with me that drinking (the way he was doing it) was bad and that he should quit. He didn't and alcoholism eventually killed him.

A few verses of Kumbaya might have a small effect. Unity isn't necessary. Just try to pare back the hatred and stop killing each other. That would be a good start.

The word opponent is better than enemy. Interesting you used enemy. We dont have to agree to be united thats the whole point of America. Right now we are under attack from socialist Communists and violent Muslims. They finance the chaos and violent protests. Democrats who are on the left refuse to oppose this and use it. Until the lefyt progressive woke destructive ideologies are defeated there s going to be a conflict
