Democrats have already done this in every state they control. If democrats redraw California for example, they risk losing seats because California is already gerrymandered to the max.
What I see is that the Republicans are going to pass the map in Texas, rigging the election to give Republicans 5 more seats. Now you can argue from your naive Pollyanna position or recognize that giving Trump 2 more years of absolute power is morally bankrupt and must be stopped by any legal means necessary.
