Burmese python news.

Juvenile pythons are virtually impossible to detect, yet they are wreaking havoc on the rodent population, which is an important link in the food chain for many Everglade predators. They also outnumber large snakes many times over.

Yeah they are animal lovers until their pet poodle is just a bulge in the belly of an 18 foot snake.
Probably so

Most of the obstructionists to sensible python control live nowhere near the places they are located

But even proximity to the problem does on sober up some people

Watch the video on Iguana hunters in Miami and other coastal cities and you will see the usual suspects railing against animal cruelity

Ahhhhh..... Similar problem to tuna....
The high volume consumers concentrate the Mercury in their body....
A pair of snake boots sells for about $2,500 bucks...

The Burmese python is one of the species that is large enough to cut enough leather from one caucus for a pair of boots...

I don't see what the problem is here.
Unleashed capitalism into the swamps and watch the problem vanish.

I'm sick and tired of coddling species that we are romantically attached to for no reason at all as if we would perish upon their disappearance.

Hi on my list of undesirables;

Large bear species
Polar bears in particular

Alligators

Crocodiles

Komodo dragons

Lions

Tiger's

Sharks

If the world was suddenly rid of 100% of each one of these mentioned above there would be almost no impact on the ecosystem except for a great increase in the safety of everybody on the planet.

The Asian carp represents a great food or fertilizer resource. They are high protein, top water feeders (no 'mudline' like bottom feeding carp), easy to harvest (they just jump out of the water when disturbed).
Intriguing

I added a video to that post.
What seems to be happening is more study and making catching this fish a sport, no serious effort to reduce their numbers, just like the Burmese python. SNAFU. :(

The Democrat and Republican caucuses are huge! You could use them instead of snakes.
