She clearly messed up as well. Touching the police officer with the car alone should have been a severe penalty. I just don’t think it should be considered an imminent life/death situation that the police officer turned it into. Not that I expect you to care what I think.

He wasn't standing in front of the vehicle until she turned towards him.
His bodycam video makes it quite apparent.

You could clearly see he was standing in front of the vehicle once she backed up, stopped and was turning the wheel in order to drive away. She never "turned "towards" him. Think about that one for a moment. If she had done that the car wouldn't have gone in the path it did. The tires were already pointing down the road, which is exactly where she ended up. If she had really turned the car "into him," she would have simply run him over and he'd be under the car.
