The U.S. Supreme Court upheld on Thursday a judge's order requiring President Donald Trump's administration to facilitate the return to the United States of a Salvadoran man who the government has acknowledged was deported in error to El Salvador.

U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis on April 4 issued an order that the administration "facilitate and effectuate" the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, in response to a lawsuit filed by the man and his family challenging the legality of his deportation.

What the Court actually said:

The rest of the District Court's order remains in effect but requires clarification on remand. The intended scope of the term "effectuate" in the District Court's order is, however, unclear, and may exceed the District Court's authority.​

Assuming this is the United States and not vigilante land, we do have laws which require that a deportee be returned to his home country. Andry José Hernández Romero is a native of Venezuela and that is where he should have been deported. Legally we can not send deportees to war zones, throw them out of planes, or execute them.
