To profess to love God because a 'feeling' without knowing God is just pretense. Knowing happens in the mind. One cannot love a God that they have never seen or heard a single peep from, ever, do not know or understand.

Everything that you think see hear feel experience dream believe regret imagine or know is perceived in the mind. This dictates your entire experience of life. If your head is full of bullshit your life will suck. You already know this.

God is not a feeling. God is a living being, the highest form of life. To be in communion with God is to have a relationship more intimate than any relationship that a person can have with another. The give and take and exchange of ideas on a spiritual level. It is not possible know or experience the living God without a purified mind.

The hidden purpose of God in giving Law is to teach people how to prepare their mind to stand in the presence of the living God knowing him because they have become more than wild animals and ascended into His realm by standing on the firmament, basis, of heaven which is the right WAY to understand and comply with the law.

To take the law literally, like you do, perverts the image and likeness of God into that of a cruel and capricious puerile petty tyrant. The deeper implications of the same Law, alluded to by Jesus when he said "eat my flesh", reveals the image and likeness of God that is a present, dedicated, loving, wise and benevolent Father, my God.
