Zone1 Breaking News: The Earth is Older than 6,000 years old

Natural selection and Adam and Eve can't both be true. ...

It's in the opposite. That Adam and Eve had been the first human beings of all human beings was made "artificially" on reason to show that all human being have the same origin. Indeed it needed some time to find out that all living structures always have a common ancestor - and our all first common ancestors was the universe in its first plank time on its own. And where from came the universe? Very easy: From the paradise. By the way: I give no guarantee that this story is scientifically correct or theologically correct but I'm also sure every idiot will deny this. ... Hmm ... Perhaps except Jesus because finally he took care to meet a criminal in the paradise.

You do know that anyone can pick up a bible and check to see that what I said is the indisputable TRUTH.

Dummy
I know. That's what I did.

You aren't the first person to be shocked by Jesus' command to eat his flesh and drink his blood. He lost a lot of disciples over that command.
  1. Jesus said he was the bread of life and whoever ate this bread would have eternal life. John 6:48-51
  2. The Jews quarreled and said how can this man give us his flesh to eat. John 6:52
  3. So rather than softening his stance he doubled down and said very clearly, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. John 6:53
  4. Afterwards his disciples said, this is hard to take. John 6:60
  5. Jesus asked them, does this shock you. John 6:61
  6. Then Jesus explained that it is the spirit that gives life. The flesh is of no avail. John 6:62-63
  7. But they didn't believe in Jesus and they couldn't accept what he was saying because it shocked them like it is shocking you. As a result of this, many [of] his disciples returned to their former way of life and no longer accompanied him. John 6:64-65
He let disciples walk away rather than to soften his stance and make it symbolic. He was given an opportunity to soften it and instead he reinforced what he said by saying the flesh is of no avail.

Right. Unless they ate his flesh, accepted his words, his teaching, on the figurative nature of the words and hidden subjects of the law, and acted on it, drank his blood, they could not have the life promised for compliance with the Law WITHIN them.

Just like there is no life WITHIN you, only the strange delusional irrational nightmares of the walking dead.
No. He did not say and accept my words. Jesus said, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. John 6:53

Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without cost.
Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labor on what does not satisfy
?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and you will delight in the richest of fare.
Give ear and come to me;
listen, that you may live.

All who have ears to hear, hear.

Then you should listen to Jesus when he said, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. John 6:53

If I've missed something important in your other messages to me, would you let me know?
You mean besides you believing in fairy tales that the universe has always magically existed.

Natural selection and Adam and Eve can't both be true. Are you throwing Adam and Eve out too now?

Did you know that the 6 days of creation were really 6 billion years? Each?
Maybe stop reading Adam and Eve literally.

Then you should listen to Jesus when he said, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. John 6:53
I have eaten 'the flesh" of Jesus and am satisfied. The life within me is manifested by the truth I have spoken. But you are deaf to the truth because you are under the condemnation of God for seeking eternal life from a matzo.

"Lord to whom shall we go? Your WORDS are WORDS of eternal life. We have faith and know that you are the Holy One of God." John 6:68... Remember? "the word became flesh", The flesh of Jesus, a new superior more satisfying metaphor for Divine instruction, teaching from God, bread from heaven, THE FOOD OF ANGELS.

"He censures those who understood our Lord's words after the letter, (literally), as if they were to eat the carnal body. He expounds the spiritual thing which gives life as to be understood by the text: "the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life."

His word is the life-giving principle, therefore he called his flesh by the same appellation, so we are to "devour Him with the ear, ruminate on Him with the understanding, and digest Him by faith."

Tertullian. Ante-Nicene Fathers, Vol. III

When Jesus asked the remaining disciples if they would leave him too after his explanation Simon Peter replied, "Lord to whom shall we go? Your WORDS are WORDS of eternal life. We have faith and know that you are the Holy One of God." John 6:68 (a prophet, a Jewish man promised by God in Deut. 18:18)

You should have read past John 6:65. Words from God are what instill spiritual life. Does this shock you?

Incorrect. You don't accept that God chose to be born into this world to testify to the truth, suffer death and resurrect himself even though that is the entire point of the NT.

So instead, you behave like a religious nutjob attacking a rival religion.

So according to you, Jesus was being literal but the Genesis story is not? How do you know?
Because allegory used in the first 11 chapters of Genesis was used to make the accounts more memorable and easier to pass down from generation to generation for thousands of years before it was recorded in writing. The allegory itself was not the point of those accounts. The point of those accounts were the historical events themselves. Whereas the miracles performed by Jesus are the point of those accounts.

Same answer as here.

And some people don't believe in "the death", a curse, for defiantly setting aside Divine Law and turning to a lifeless piece of bread MADE BY HUMAN HANDS that you worship and eat ON YOUR KNEES for spiritual life.

Imagine that!

I will tell you something. Try to hear.

"No one whose balls have been crushed can become a member of the assembly of the Lord." Deuteronomy 23:1

ITS THE LAW!

This may come as a shock to some but there is an overwhelming amount of geologic evidence that the earth is not 6,000 years old and that this in no way contradicts the existence of God.

Sequences were mapped using the Mollweide projection, and, in all cases, are by Ron Blakey.

Recent studies show that T-Rex showed up about 70 million years ago. We know the dinosaurs were wiped out by an asteroid about 66 million years ago, so T-Rex had a long productive run on earth.

Yep. And the universe is ~14 billion years old and the earth is ~4 billion years old.

Good for them. I couldn't be happier for them. Or do you think I should be attacking them for their beliefs like a religious nutjob.

Right, but according to you Genesis is an allegorical account of the creation of the universe passed down orally from generation to generation for 14 billion years :cuckoo: before the earth existed and human beings wrote it down.

Yup, That makes a lot of sense.

:alcoholic:

Not exactly. More like passed down for several thousand years because that's how they passed down important information 6,000 years ago; orally from generation to generation. The same thing applies to the other accounts in the 1st eleven chapters of Genesis. Allegorical accounts of historical events and other important knowledge worth passing down. :)

Better to put the whole 'age of the universe' debate on hold until we find out if what the JWST suggests is true, and is settled science?

Or we could just go with what the science is telling us now.

Even if it offends your atheistic sensibilities.
