The Boulder City Council unanimously passed a sweeping gun control ordinance Tuesday night banning “assault weapons” and bump stocks, even as a pro-Second Amendment group threatened to retaliate by suing individual councilmembers.

What you think won't pass don't get on it esp. when you have a state full of pussies who are afraid of guns even if it's a picture of one.

How are they defining "assault weapon"?

This has a bit more information, including a description: Boulder passes sweeping anti-gun bill; pro-2A nonprofit vows to sue individual councilmembers

From in that article, a link took me to this, which seems to be the actual ordinance: https://www-static.bouldercolorado....59.157779400.1522873691-1511405249.1522873691

Boulder is probably one of the most ultra-progressive towns in Colorado, hell in the nation for that matter. Boulder only exists because for all intent and purposes because it's the University of Colorado. In Colorado each locality is semi-autonomous meaning if the state decided to have no laws concerning firearms each locality could make up their own and the state can do nothing about it.

In Boulder? Probably starting with spit-wads and moving outward from there.

So, uh, where's the "sweeping" part?

Why can't you ever post a credible link?

I sold a house last year that exists only because the university there. Nothing wrong with that.

Funny how RWNJs are always screaming states rights until its something they disagree wit.

Many are saying they will refuse to comply.

If they are smart they will. If one state and their people actually go along with this it sets a dangerous chain reaction across the country where other stupid asses will try it as well.

Then you should have no problem with states banning SSM.

This is that dreaded awkward moment

I was simply passing on facts concerning Boulder and Colorado, nothing more, nothing less. RWNJs and LWNJs will make what they want out of it.......... As you just did.........

Wow, you snowflakes are easily triggered. IRRC all of you guys poohooed bumpstocks as so rare they weren't worth worrying about, and you survived the last "assault weapons ban". You can still clutch your 1911 to help you sleep, right?

Not true. Colorado has preemption. This law will be struck down at the State level.

Are you sure the state can do nothing about it? Like the sanctuary state stuff in California where some cities are saying they won't comply. I haven't been keeping up, dunno what's been going on there, but it looks like a re-examination of the distribution of power between the federal, state, and local gov'ts. I can see a lot of litigation coming in the near future, and activist judges are going to have a large say over quite a few politial issues.

My mistake, you are correct, I just looked it up. It's only Denver that can enact local firearm ordinances counter to the state's. When I lived in Colorado we were told each locality was semi-autonomous to include firearm ordinances.

Someone just corrected me on that one and it's only Denver that has that type of authority concerning firearm laws.
