Virginia House Democrats on Thursday muscled through a sweeping package of gun control legislation, passing more than half a dozen bills aimed at restricting access to certain firearms, tightening storage requirements and expanding civil liability for the gun industry, as Republicans — reduced to an even smaller minority after November’s elections — spoke forcefully in opposition but were ultimately unable to stop the measures.

The proposals are now headed to the Virginia Senate, included a ban on the sale of assault-style weapons and large-capacity magazines.

Leftists will rejoice. Honest folks, not so much.

Lots of bills passed and headed to Abbey. The bill that made it illegal to have gun in car originally hand exempted general assembly members from it, but they bailed. In Virginia, if the governor doesn't veto it , the bill automatically passes. She just has to not respond in 30 days and it becomes law. That way her fans can say that she didn't approve. That's how they roll.
