Bondi fires 18 immigration judges

18 immigration judges (all of whom report to the Attorney General) have been fired

The amazing fact is that each immigration judge only hears 2 cases a day.

So if you have 12 million illegals, you're going to need 20,000 judges.
This appears to be a case of the idiot Trump making matters worse.

Looks like someone's hiring.

Why were they canned?
My guess is they were canned for political reasons, to make the immigration appeals process lock up completely, with no judges to administer the process.

After all, you can't have due process with no judges!
You're lying or you're talking out your ass.
Sine 1996, "due process" was met by hearings held by INS/DHS/ICE officers, who determined immigration status and issued deportation orders. The hearings accounted for about 75% of the deportations since that date.
No judge, no court, no lawyers, no appeal.

They weren't the only judges in the system.

I'd bet they were probably too lenient determing asylum claims.

Fitz's ignorance is monumental.

What makes you think removing those 12 million workers makes the US better?

"In the words of the press release that accompanied the Gallup poll released last Friday, 'a record-high 79 percent of U.S. adults say immigration is a good thing for the country.'

Trump’s deportations make Americans pro-immigrant again

"Despite years of Goebbels-esque xenophobic and Great Replacement propaganda from right-wing social media, the Murdoch network, and MAGA politicos, nothing has propelled Americans into a pro-immigrant posture like Stephen Miller’s orgy of deportations.

"Last year, Gallup found that fully 55 percent of Americans wanted immigration to our nation reduced.

"This year, in polling conducted over the month of June, when Miller’s masked troopers were visibly snatching Latinos from bus stops and swap meets, that percentage toppled to just 30 percent.

"From 2024 to 2025, the percentage of Republicans who think immigration is good for the country rose from 39 percent to 64 percent."
Facts tell me that will be beneficial to the country.

Well yeah, one’s that the govt makes legal

This isn’t a hard concept, the immigration laws are public

But it's a typical right wing hide behind.

It takes a decade and about $50K in fees and lawyers to immigrate legally.

You either don't know that, or your ranting about illegals hides behind the fact that legal immigrantion is expensive, time consuming, and well out of the reach of many.

Right wing hide behind? You mean the rule of law? Yes it is

Which, of course, in no way justifies illegal immigration and coddling those who choose to engage in it.
Right?

By filling labor gaps in low-skill labor-intensive jobs in agriculture, construction, food service, and hospitality, undocumented workers sustain these industries keeping them operational and competitive.

ChatGPT:"Which positive economic consequences do undocumented workers bring to the US economy?"

"2. Lower Consumer Prices

  • "By reducing labor costs, undocumented workers help keep prices lower for many goods and services, especially in:
    • Food production
    • Housing construction
    • Restaurant and cleaning services

3. "Contributions to Social Security

  • "Many undocumented workers use false or borrowed Social Security numbers, leading them to pay into the system without ever collecting benefits."

Great! Let's replace them with judges that actually want to do their job.

Paying substandard wages.
